I dunno 'bout that. There are some that have rather expensive bottles of wine to go with that meal. I'm sure whatever the amount is, you could exhaust it at several places.

Honestly, I haven't been to Everest in a while (over a year at least). They used to have a pre-theatre/opera prix fixe option that I enjoyed.

Jean Joho also has his hand in Paris Bistro & Bar on the North Side. I believe you would appreciate the ambiance. Take a look at the menu - see what you think.

You also have RPM Italian. The interior is more modern, chic than I think you want.

Remember what I told you about Intro Chicago? Take a look at their FAQ page about using LEYE gift certificates for it.

Lastly - and I know you really didn't want a new restaurant - but I'm gonna tell you anyway! LEYE's newest will be Nishiguchi and is supposed to open this spring. This is a combined effort of LEYE and the owners of Juno (up in the DePaul U area of Lincoln Park). It is going to be a very intimate (less than 45 seats) sushi restaurant - next to Intro Chicago.

Dang! I posted because of my little fat fingers not knowin' where they're goin'.

Anyway, Nishiguchi is going to use the ticket format, just like Intro Chicago (and others). Not any more information I can extend to you now on that option but...If the concept holds any allure for you, I would do a Google about late April or very early May to see if there are any updates. I doubt that there will be any in April but I'd hate to tell you May - and wisk! you'd be outta luck getting tix for your BD.

NP, that's Paris Club Bistro & Bar. Sorry - I didn't see that typo when I finished my thoughts above.

I was nice to see a familiar name when I logged on today, neopatrick. After all your help with Broadway shows, I wish I could help you when you are closer (albeit not close) to my area. I am not a foodie though, so not much help there.

However, we do watch the WGN news out of Chicago and their restaurant critic might have something of interest to you.

I did check to see if Phil Vetell had reviewed the three restaurants you mentioned at the beginning. Two out of three isn't bad.

Topolobampo

Bohemian House

Nothing for Bavette's.
