FYI, we stayed at the Mirage for their $79 a night special for 5 nights last month and were really disappointed in it!
Let me tell you the positives first.
The Samba Brazilian Steakhouse was excellent, and I still like the ambience of the hotel. However, we were pretty bummed that the newly decorated rooms were so, well, depressing! I've stayed there twice before and loved it, but the service seemed lackluster since now the MGM owns it. We could not get decent hotel service to get our room cleaned and we'd have to call at 4 p.m. to beg to get our room done. The rooms smelled like smoke even though it was a nonsmoking wing, and then they couldn't find our valet parked car for an hour one day, and just myriad other little things. We'll be trying Bellagio next time. Their pool is so pretty and they have umbrellas near their pool, unlike Mirage. And the gelato ice cream was out of this world at Bellagio.
Roe, be glad you stayed at Bellagio.

Sure= VEGAS is TACKY--but the Bellagio is elegant....
If you haven't been inside their rooms, you would not understand-- It is not glitz--it is understated elegance with marble bathrooms to die for--

I LOVE the Bellagio- and would Definitely go back--the only thing "TACKY" about it was the gambling and the high stakes==== but the rest of the hotel was wonderful....
I am from the NON-GAMBLERS,going along with a gambling crowd, and this hotel fit the bill perfectly---
