Your advice has always been spot on - and very distinguished at that, IMO.

And should it have anything to do with your self-imposed absence, I am with you on stopping in certain zones while waiting for someone - for whatever reason, there are a myriad of people who like to follow rules regardless of whether they make sense or not. It is a matter of mentality, I suppose. However don't get infuriated about people getting aggravated, there is no use debating.

Enjoy that time off for a while, but do come back, please.

Well most of us know why dear GT is taking a break. I would too. But dear one, don't stay away too long. As you can see, you will be very missed. I sure hope you are having a beautiful 4th of July weekend.

And BTW, I agree with OWJ's niece, smart girl, that little one! And as OWJ said GT, you added so much to our visit to Charleston, you have no idea. Cyberhugs.

GoTravel - Another one who hopes your absence is temporary. I also enjoy your posts. I know how you feel-once someone got nasty with me because they didn't like the way I described the geography of Arizona. But that's cyberspace for you. Most people on this forum are so wonderful and helpful. A good example is Rex just recently making calls to France for wj1 concerning her mother's medical emergency. Just remember all the good people on this forum and ignore the times that threads get nasty. Come back soon!

GoTravel, please - It's not worth it, while I understand you may be disenchanted with Fodors and some posters, It's only a few peoples opinions, the majority of whom you will never meet and who will never know you.

I also have opinions about people who park/stand in the fire lane but I didn't post because I didn't feel strongly enough to make my point this forum.

I did post after the fact that you had already said Au Revoir...but I do not think you should leave because of anyone's opionions here! You have much to offer this website!

Hopefully, you will one day realize that, if everyone one of us 'laid it all out there' there would be someone to disagree with something we do...habits or otherwise. And if we all left because of that, there would be no fodors!

I am training for my first marathon (the Marine Corps Marathon in DC this Fall), and though I am slow as molasses, I am enjoying it.
