Thanks.
I have already shared this problem with my cc company with outlined documents. We concluded to see Xglob's responses for a time being.
But I cannot imagine if the cc company is not trustworthy. Especially, in Japan, such a cc company cannot survive.
I directly called the hotel that is not a property of WooGo. I confirmed no problem at all. But WooGo's apartment in NYC does not disclose direct telephone numbers, so I cannot call directly.
Anyway I will report whether or not further problem happens by Xglob or WooGo during our travel.

DO NOT BOOK TRAVEL THROUGH XGLOB.COM!!! It is the WORST website I have ever used. I booked a reservation at a hotel with them and have had nothing but problems. When I made my reservation in April, they charged my credit card at that time, even though I was not traveling until July. So I had to pay 3 months in advance. They told me I have to contact the hotel directly to specify what floor and bed size I wanted. I called the hotel, but they had no reservation for me. After many weeks and countless phone calls to xglob, my reservation was finally made with the hotel (9 days before I was leaving). So now I think everything is fine - WRONG! Once I get to the hotel, they want my credit card because the room was not paid for. So I wasted another 3 hours trying to check in and get someone from xglob to take care of the bill that should have been paid for already. Finally everything is in order. I have my room, xglob paid the bill, but again something else goes wrong. While I was on my vacation, xglob charged my credit card again! Unbelievable. I have called them 4 times, faxed and e-mailed my credit card statements to prove they charged me twice, but still no refund. The 10% discount they offer is not worth all the time and inconvenience you get with it. PLEASE be smart enough to use a reputable company like Travelocity or Expedia. I wish I did.

Get your cc company to agree in writing to extend the deadline for contesting a charge. You usually only have 60 days to do so.

I'm not defending XGLOB in the least, but it would be nice, nikkimcgee, if you told us who you REALLY are. Are we supposed to believe you just happened to come across this website and registered to tell us about this single experience? Since you're now here do you have any other travel experiences to share with us?

NeoPatrick Aug 1st, 2007 07:19 AM

Now another week has gone by and still this new poster, nikkimcgee, hasn't found any other issue to comment about on Fodors. I still wonder who he really is?

GoTravel Aug 1st, 2007 08:51 AM

Patrick, I wonder if the poster wasn't brought to the site by google or some other search engine and then posted and fled?

GoTravel Aug 1st, 2007 08:52 AM

Yep, I just did a search and Fodors came up as number three.

michelleNYC Aug 1st, 2007 08:54 AM

Wow... what a scam! Unbelievable that these guys can get away with this so easily!

Raz Ofer is again in the "news":

NeoPatrick Aug 24th, 2007 05:53 AM

Interesting article, but am I the only one who felt it almost seemed to be painting Trump as the bad guy here? It said Trump "got his way", etc. The article almost seemed to be pointing out what a clever guy this Raz Ofer is for beating the system.

michelleNYC Aug 24th, 2007 06:59 AM

I have to say that this article was very poorly written. And this "Raz Ofer" person obviously is morally and ethically bankrupt.

mclaurie Aug 24th, 2007 07:09 AM

I agree with you NP. This guy really has b***s.

borknagr Dec 24th, 2007 08:17 AM

Well, Xglob.com was shut down a couple of months ago, and now Raz launched a new website, looking just the same as Woogo.com but with different color, you would recognize the same simple design of the homepage.
The website's name is www.luxaway.com, and I recommend you to avoid it!!!

Dukey Dec 24th, 2007 12:05 PM

Gee, where is Matron Janis when we need her the most?

ukdude2 Apr 13th, 2008 07:30 AM

Raz Ofer is hiding in Negril, Jamaica. The Jamaican Government has started investigating Mr. Ofer's business dealings with cooperation with the FBI and Israel authorities.

He runs woogo.com, woogotravel.com,yourstay.com.,xglob.com,luxaway.co m

PLEASE help save Negril Jamaica from this person, he is the Devil!

Raziel Ofer was finally caught by authorities:

NeoPatrick Jul 18th, 2008 07:19 AM

This is really good news. But it will be better news when we really know he has paid up and/or is behind bars.

borknagar Jul 18th, 2008 07:35 AM

He will be in jail, it's just a matter of time until court starts on December 12th. I read in another website that he surrendered his Israeli passport and paid a bail of 500,000 USD .
