I had to read this one slowly! Yep, another vote for a city girl with hairy legs or a suburbanite with a unibrow. LOL!

Orcas Oct 20th, 2006 07:21 PM

My husband says it sounds like a Bushism, like "stategery."

I think it sounds like some person living in the city who wears birks - sort of on the lines of the city girl who doesn't shave her legs (though I wear birks - without socks, guys! - and I shave my legs.

Orcas Oct 20th, 2006 07:24 PM

Ok. For free. Here's a real original. "Seattle Does it Better!" Or, how 'bout this, "Do it better in Seattle!" :-)

Orcas Oct 20th, 2006 07:25 PM

My husband says, "Do it wetter in Seattle!" And that one's free, too!!!

Orcas Oct 20th, 2006 07:26 PM

We're on a roll here,
"Nobody does it wetter...."

starrsville Oct 20th, 2006 07:33 PM

(Gasp!) Who TOLD you?!?!

Metronatural..hhmm..: "someone stinky who rides the subway ?"

pepper131 Oct 21st, 2006 08:04 AM

I'm tired of all these labels for everything. People who appreciate boths worlds have existed for a long time...and NOW we have to have a word for it.

Tell me...what does a metronatural drive and wear - so I can go buy it and be a part of it.

I'm over it.

suze Oct 21st, 2006 08:13 AM

Well it's no stupider than the "Emerald City" or "See@L" which thankfully most everyone quickly ignored. Geez this is so embarrassing.

SFImporter Oct 21st, 2006 09:30 AM

Metronatural - I thought it might be someone who is "a natural" at navigating metro stations. I seem to always get on the bus I want going in the wrong direction - but I'm a natural when it comes to metro rail transit.

Am I a Metronatural?

Of course in San Francisco our transit is called Muni and the streetcars and subways are called Muni Metro.

trippinkpj Oct 21st, 2006 09:34 AM

Metro reminds me of a city. Natural, sort of eco / green minded individual. So a city dweller who takes public transit or drives a hybrid car.

This slogan will go the way of the famous Vegas slogan:

"Las Vegas, It's For Families!"

jetset1 Oct 21st, 2006 02:37 PM

((I))Why didn't they just use au naturel?

Provocative and about as back to the lush and green healthy hiking and gluteus maximus Adam and Eve days as it gets..

Or they could have promoted the caffeine connection with Java Boy and Grinder Grrl.....

Then what of Bill's contribution?
Microfantasy? Life Simulator 2006?

How about an ode to popular transportation in the area? CloggedArteries and FerryScenic4U..

**oh right, time for the meds again;)

GoTravel Oct 21st, 2006 03:12 PM

Metronatural = People that stink.

Viajero2 Oct 21st, 2006 03:25 PM

>"So quick, what word did you first think of when you saw that?>

A phrase and it was "Dumbest Slogan Ever".

Viajero2 Oct 21st, 2006 03:26 PM

Female attorneys with unshaved armpits.

GoTravel Oct 21st, 2006 03:29 PM

"Dumbest Slogan Ever".

LOL!!

johnthedorf Oct 22nd, 2006 05:07 AM

Embarrassing that somebody actually got paid for that.

aileen679 Oct 22nd, 2006 06:24 AM

I don't know how many times that I come everyday to check out the posts. But everytime in the last two days, I stop and look at "metronatural"

It still looks unnatural and somewhat kinky. Whatever it is, it doesn't describe a city that I think I would like to visit. One time, it made me think of methane gas and manure.

NeoPatrick Oct 22nd, 2006 06:29 AM

What word first comes to mind when I see that slogan?

PRETENTIOUS
