All those tall buildings in New York hurt my neck, they should cut them down to a reasonable size. Why anyone would want to live and work in anything but a ranch style house or a 3 storey office complex is beyone me ;)

The more I travel abroad the more I think, "we could do some things even better in the United States if we wanted to."

Almost, beenthere...
"Travel is fun, home should be boring."

Nope, Travel is fun, home should be fun, too.

I'd have to agree w/the person who stated "road trip". You have to venture about 40+ miles outside of any major city to get to the neat factories like Blenko and Fiestaware, or to see many historical sites in Virginia and the South. No wonder your German friend is stereotyping, has he/she ever left cities the size of NYC, Atlanta or Los Angeles?

Stephanie, don't get caught up in making this a serious thread! There are so many of those!

The German friend might, after all, compare the Wal-Mart outside Greensboro with a Wal-Mart outside St. Paul -- WAAAAAY different -- IF your eyes are closed and you're just hearing the accents of the people talking!
