I have lived in the upstate all my life with approximately yearly trips to Charleston. Even with that little connection to the low country, I was just overwhelmed by the descriptions of the marshes and tidal creeks, etc. The eating of fish stuffed with the shrimp they found in his belly is still with me.

Dancer, I looked a pretty nice beachfront house on Folly they were asking $1.4 mil for this summer. About 4 years ago we stayed in a beachfront place that was fine, but one of the more ramshackle homes, and it was for sale at $800,000. I'm told I would have profited handsomely if I'd bought it...that nothing is avail for that on the ocean anymore. have fun looking!
