I remember reading that royalty always packs to be correct for any occasion and/or weather. So it's likely that the 50 outfits are not all meant to be worn on this trip, but are there in case of a drastic change in temperature or another event. When the present Queen Elizabeth was on safari in Africa in the 1950's, there was, in her luggage, a set of mourning clothes, which she unfortunately had to use on her flight home when her father suddenly died in England. Apparently all royals do this while traveling in order to be appropriately dressed if a relative dies.

So while she may have brought 50 outfits on this trip, I doubt very much that she'll be wearing them all...but we'll see.
