And you think you overpack?!
I heard on the news today that Duchess Camilla brought 50 different outfits for her 7 day trip to the US! if she changes her clothes 7 times a day, every day, that still leaves her an extra outfit - I wonder how many pairs of shoes she packed? She also brought a staff of 3 to do her hair and makeup. That makes me feel a whole lot better about my tendency to pack too much stuff! :-)
and from what I saw on TV this morning - she should fire at least one of those 3!
For a small fee, I will teach her how to pack a 22" carryon for several weeks:D
Not to pick on the woman, but I thought that maybe she could make a stop in a salon in NYC, she really needs a new "do"
grantop
Apparently Prince Charles has always loved her hair, perhaps why she keeps it the same. After all the Queen has had the same hair-do since the 40's. I think Camilla knows that that the US audience will be very hard to please. Personally I thought Diana was a bit of a drama queen. Every photo you see of Charles and Camilla they are laughing, the same cannot be said of Charles and Diana. |
alya, you are making my post into something it's not. Camilla is a very public person in the spotlight, some would think that she would update her look. Camilla's hair style has nothing to do with Diana.
grantop - whoa, back down!
Perhaps if you tell me what you didn't like my post I could defend myself. Camilla has always had the same hairstyle - true The Queen has had the same hairstyle for years - true, She's a very public figure, should she update her 'do? The US audience is going to be hard on Camilla - Well, I think thats a fair comment. Pictures of C&C together - they seem very happy C&D only seemed happy in the first couple of years. Try watching the news and see how obsessed the US is with Camilla and are comparing her with Diana. |
Poor Prince Charles - always in the limelight :-)
I simply said that she should update her do and you came back with the queen, Charles, Diana, saying Diana was a drama Queen, photos and who was smiling . . it's admirable of you to defend Camilla, but I wasn't attacking her!
OK - I have to confess, I'm a Brit :-)
We love to 'bash' our royalty. Perhaps the problem is that I like to refer my post to an individual poster. If I'd referred my first 2 paragraphs to you and then posted my other observations in another post - would that have been better? |
Does anyone think that the choice of the hot pink/red suit for laying the wreath at the WTC was sort of inappropriate? I just thought it was too "cheerful"..grey. blue, something more toned down would have been more suitable, no?
On another note though- I WISH I fould bring 50 outifits with me on a trip..never having to wonder what to wear, I brought it all with me :D |
Chuck and Camilla? who cares? (I suspect the Brits aren't even that interested in their royalty.) 50 outfits, and she wears pink and red to a wreath laying? Not well thought out...but remember Cheney wearing a big puffy down jacket (everyone else knew what to wear) to a WWII memorial?
I don't have 50 outfits that fit...sooobbbbb!!!!
What's limelight? Anyone know where that term came from? If she'd been wearing pink and the light had been green, wouldn't the net result be a kind of cruddy gray-brown?
Wonder how she'd look as a goth. |
I regularly travel with a woman who overpacks because she doesn't know exactly what the weather will be like & what mood she will be in for the clothes she brings. Therefore, there are several outfits that are not worn and are schlepped across the countryside.
Grammar of that was wrong, but I'm not really conversant with the proper terminology: "Wonder how she'd look, goth?" If she's visiting the US, would that make her a Visigoth?
You can see how gripping I find the whole topic. Just NOBODY bring up his comment about her knickers to anyone who thinks NYC is personified as Charlie Knickerbocker. |
C and C are not an issue, nor is her wardrobe. Give them a break. Anyone envious of a person who packs 50 plus suits, well, strange. Forget colors and think instead of behavior.
And that makes me wonder...how did Camilla get past that 2-bag, 50 pound weight limit per bag ruling?
cfc, I think the term "limelight" comes from the kind of lights that used to be used on stages. I think during the days of vaudeville.
If I had someone else to carry and manage all my luggage (I'm sure she only has to schlepp her purse around), then I'd overpack too.
