Amazing Race

Did you see there is a new Amazing Race beginning July 6!!!!

J_Correa May 10th, 2004 10:59 AM

YES!! and I am very excited about the new season.

Idnas71 May 10th, 2004 11:33 AM

I was very excited to hear the Amazing Race is coming back. Love, love, love that show!

kikahead May 10th, 2004 12:25 PM

I hadn't heard! That is fantastic!!! Great show!!!! I cannot wait for another season!

Ani May 10th, 2004 12:42 PM

Woohoo! Absolutely love that show!
A couple of seasons ago one of the stops was at Dunnottar castle in Scotland. It was amazing! Little did I know I'd be visiting there with my hubby just a year later.

GailLK May 29th, 2004 10:38 AM

Yippeeee! Love that show too!! Everytime I watch it, I get the travel bug and end up booking a trip someplace!!! Can't wait for the new season!!!!

kikahead Jul 6th, 2004 12:04 PM

Starts tonight!!!

crosbie Jul 6th, 2004 12:11 PM

I have been dying for it to come back on! there goes my tuesday nights!

Ryan Jul 6th, 2004 12:21 PM

I think it is generally a good show. I think they are planning some changes to ensure that it simply doesn't turn into a "who gets on line first at the airport" wins contest.

beachbum Jul 6th, 2004 12:51 PM

Never seen the show before, but will be watching and pulling for Kami and Karli, two girls who used to work for me.

ms_go Jul 6th, 2004 01:06 PM

According to today's Chicago Tribune, after the premiere tonight, it will be on Saturdays at 7pm -- an awful time slot. I guess we'll have to fire up the old VCR...

dwoodliff Jul 6th, 2004 02:02 PM

Really? Personally, I'll be glad if the show is on Saturdays, 'cause there's nothing else worth watching on the weekend!

Statia Jul 7th, 2004 06:02 AM

Alright, I was too busy watching turtles hatch on the beach and missed it.

Can someone fill me in on last night's episode? Where did they go?

bugswife1 Jul 7th, 2004 06:17 AM

The answer is TIVO!!! Just get Tivo and put the Amazing Race in for a season pass. Then you never have to worry about it again--even if they switch nights one week for some reason.

In answer to the above, they went to Uraguay. I don't want to post the details because that would be a spoiler. Just google amazing race and go to their website. It gives a great recap.

travelisfun Jul 7th, 2004 06:18 AM

It was a pretty good episode--it looks like it will be a fun season to watch! They started in Santa Monica and went to Uruguay. Then they made a few stops in Uruguay before the pit stop. Nothing particularly stunning, scenery-wise. A few beaches and an island.

A couple of twists this year...there is a "yield" in each leg that one team can use to make another team wait. Sort of like the fast forward only it punishes another team. No one used it this time, so it will be interesting to see.

Great episode!

I love this show! My favorite reality show.

Cheering for the 2 brothers...pizza shop owners.

According to this & next week's TV Guide, the show will be seen, IN THE NYC area, Tuesday nights at 10 and repeating on Saturday nights at 8.

caribtraveler Jul 7th, 2004 07:39 AM

how funny luv2fly. we HATE the pizza guys!! :-)
can't stand the "dating/models" couple.
love the older couple who met on the internet after both losing their spouses to cancer.
the bowling moms are too funny.
i'd root for the little person but her cousin is too annoying!

Barbara Jul 7th, 2004 08:15 AM

We also didn't care for the pizza guys, or the cousin. In fact, I can't stand her!

The internet dating couple, the father and daughter, and the moms are all great.

Does anyone remember Alison from "Big Brother".

bugswife1 Jul 7th, 2004 08:34 AM

I can't stand those pizza guys either--loud, and obnoxious. Can't wait to see their warm reception in Europe. I am cheering for the couple who lost their spouses to cancer, the father/daughter team, and bowling moms.

I have a love/hate relationship with Allison from Big Brother. She is so cocky. But, she is a smart cookie and stands a tremendous chance of winning.

GailLK Jul 7th, 2004 08:35 AM

I like the internet dating couple too who lost their spouses to cancer!
They seem to really work well together. They may not have the energy of the younger 20 somethings, but they may be wiser and use better strategy. I find the younger dating couples "annoying". Always bickering over something!
