Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I reckon.
|
Wow, most of you are tainted with the "thin woman is ideal" syndrome. Michelle was/is not fat. Marilyn Monroe was beefier than she. And tv puts at least 10 lbs on everyone.
That's why anorexia is running rampant- you are all swallowing the marketing ideal. So are our girls. |
JJ5, I was very complimentary of Christy's figure. All three Bransen girls are in fine shape as well. Their father, Wally, looks like Fred Flintstone and could lose twenty-five pounds. The youngest Godlewski girl is in fine shape. The Linz girl could lose some weight. And for the Weaver girls, well, let's say they are a bit chunky. Too many fried chickens, pancakes, hot fudge sundaes and Big Gulp sodas from the looks of it.

I also have to take exception to Shane's comment 2 weeks in a row now that somehow Christine's sisters are jealous of her because she is "happily married with 4 kids" - first of all, how do you know she is happily married? As you admit in the thread about last week's episode, you are relying on the CBS biography of the family. Just because they may not say that the others are married doesn't mean they are not! And, I think you are perhaps imposing your own view -that being married with children and maybe not having a career is the mark of a successful life that others would be jealous of. Furthermore, after seeing Christine's behavior over the past weeks, I can understand why her sisters get annoyed by her (the CONSTANT talking and the frequent crying at the drop of a hat) and I think that your gross generalization is just that.
On the other hand, I agree with the "anyone but the Weavers" sentiment. They are the worst. |
I would lay odds that Christy is actually underweight.
And by your standards about 90% of womankind humanity are fat, Shane. |
Shane, please post a link to your photo. I want to hang it by my exercycle for motivation and inspiration!
|
Catbert, although I am in good shape for my advanced years, I have the face of a potato. I would not be an inspiration to you. Sadly, only my dear wife and children have any use for me.
|
Shane, would that be a Red Bliss, a Yukon Gold, or a Boiler? :-d
|
My daughter was reading the official website and said the 2nd and 3rd place finishers get some monetary compensation too. Does anyone know what the 2nd & 3rd place prize money is?
|
Joan! :-D
|
I think I read somewhere that 2nd place was getting 100K.

I think the $100,000 is survivor. Here's what most think the non winners of TAR get:
2nd: $25,000 3rd: $10,000 4th: $7,000 5th: $6,000 6th: $5,000 7th: $4,000 8th: $3,500 9th: $3,000 10th: $2,500 11th: $1,500 |
Like a Maine russet, left in the fields, not fit to harvest. Sad to say.
|
Suzie, is that in addition to the stipend they get for the time away from there employment and whatever they get for coming to NY to be on TV after they are eliminated?

=D>Shane, thanks for my laugh for the day!
|
Does anyone really know what the compensation is for these reality shows? Isn't all of that confidential?
It's been reported that Rob & Amber got $500,000 for their appearance but that's not the going rate for 2nd place! |
On the early show today the Godlewski's said they got $20,000.
|
USAToday article today states that after the end of last episode is shown on west coast (11pm PST) that the 2nd & 3rd place teams will "square off in a challenge availible only at cbs.com .... the winner gets a 2006 GMC Yukon XL"
Damn, as if we've not seen ENOUGH of those SUVs! |
They've got to get rid of them somehow!
|
I'll die if the Weavers win. Actually I think the Linz siblings are remarkably poised for 4 kids/ young adults. I cant imagine myself in their position. I love their enthusiasm and positive attitudes. The Branson family is very nice also.
