OK, a gold oak leaf with an acorn; Dental, Nursing, Supply, Medical Service and Chaplain Corps are recognized by those as well.
Naval officers are USN (reg Navy) or USNR (reserve) even 'tho many USNR officers are/have been/will be often closer to Harm's way - especially the MC,NC and DC folks!
I spent 8 years 5 months 25 days on active duty in the USN and had a great time and the best duty stations in the entire USN - resigned when I had to pay private school tuition for three and plan for a comfortable retirement as I had no "Rabbi".
