Im thinking of Downtown Inn central ave
Do you know if this hotel is a ok place to stay at, and do you know if they have water in the pool in july?

Or Econo lodge, Stardust Inn and Americas Best Value Inn all at Central ave.

im a tourist from sweden europe coming to abq for a week early july.

Or maybe hiway house motel At central?

visited abq 3 years ago stayed at clubhouse, want to stay at other place this time.

I strongly advise against staying on Central, it ranges from ok to not good. What is your budget, per night? Will you have a rental car?

I am a local and can suggest many better, safer places to stay.

Ok Debit, im a smoker and i like outdoor pools and exterior hallways or balonies. Im allergic to pets. I guess i would likto stay close to Downtown Oldtown or Nob Hill but its not that important. And Yes Ma,am i have a rental car. (how is it really, arte people drinking at a bar or restarant and then driving home?).
My budget? $ 0-160 ? You know i like those old school motels from the 50-60´s because they usually are 2 stories high but there are those w 6 floors also from that era. And if the pool is at least 6 ft deep = ok 8ft = GREAT.

Newer hotels pools are 5 ft only, some new law? And in the 60´s motels had divingboards but you dont see that often today. Is it forbidden weith diving boards? Since when? Camn i smoke at cafes and restaurants i ABQ with outdoor seatings?

Is Downtown Inn ok or nasty 1213 Central (i saw it on "In Plain Sight" i also saw Hiway House in IPS.

The 2 Hyatt Place hotels have pools (Airport and Uptown) The Airport Hyatt place has an attractive rate now but I don't know about the July rate. The Hyatt Regency has a rooftop lap pool but would be expensive.

No smoking in bars or restaurants here; you can at some outdoor cafes.

Pools at the old type motels are going to be small, shallow ones and will have water in July. I don't think any place has diving boards due to safety issues [liability].

This motel gets great reviews on Tripadvisor; it is further west on Central, so a bit better area than the ones you were listing.

Seriously, I would not stay at any motel on Central in the downtown or Nob Hill area or east of Nob hill [ address would be either Central NE or SE]; they are really not used by travelers, they are more likely used by people as long term residences or by the hour [if you follow what that means]

HTTY - take a look at that website to see if there's something you'd be interested in during your trip. The Blue Swallow looks interesting as do others (if you've not made all your reservations). I loved the kitschy vintage Route 66 motel we stayed in on our trip in AZ :-)

I agree with Deb - I wouldn't stay at any of the motels by I-25 and Central. We did an overnight getaway several years ago at the Econo Lodge west of Rio Grande on Central, and it was fine, but I haven't been there recently.

The Sandia Peak Motel always looks nice and well cared for when I drive past it.

But that's only if you *really* want to stay on Central. You can find nicer properties in your price range in other areas of Albuquerque.
