I wanted to add, that we planned to return the car and take shuttle to airport and another shuttle to hotel. Then found out that the hotel will pick us up directly at Hertz and take us to the hotel.Just to call whenever we were ready. No charge. We tipped the driver. We delivered the car to the return lot the evening before the early AM flight. In AM we had free breakfast at our hotel and their shuttle took us to the airport. It all went so smoothly , no fuss or frustrations.

We did exactly what you did, Jenny. Used the hotel's complimentary shuttle to/from the airport, making the car rental and return much less stressful.

Why not? Do you change your plans all the time? We plan our trips, say which days we will be some place, make air reservations and then car rental. You can't change air reservations. It is fine if you aren't sure of your plans but to say "never" is a bit foolish. We usually pay half of any rental amount shown on Travelocity, for example. Save literally hundreds of dollars on hotel room in NYC. If it doesn't suit you, that is fine, but it is a very legitimate money saving option in this day and age.

Why not ask Enterprise? As has been mentioned through this thread, different airports sometimes have different rules. We have always had good service from Enterprise.
