A New Dog

My wife and I are trying to put a 4 day vacation around picking up our new dog in
Charlotte N.C. We are coming from Ohio. We are thinking of going to the Wilmington area for some beach time before picking up the dog and heading home. Any suggestions?

You might want to repost with the name of your destination in the title. Hope you get some good suggestions.

Is this another trick to see who answers?

rkkwan Jul 20th, 2006 06:17 PM

How cruel of you not bringing the dog to the beach! :(

cmcfong Jul 20th, 2006 06:17 PM

What kind of dog?

starrsville Jul 20th, 2006 06:26 PM

A hot dog?

thehumps Jul 20th, 2006 06:43 PM

No, this is the real deal We are getting a bloodhound from a breeder outside of Charlotte N.C. but, first looking for a place between Morehead City and Wilmington for 3-4 days of relaxation

I heard West Virginia is great - and very scenic.

A blood hound? What's up with that?

JAGIRL Jul 20th, 2006 07:15 PM

>>>A hot dog?<<< :D

starrsville you really are on a roll today! :))

Oh, I love bloodhounds. How old is your pup?

thehumps Jul 21st, 2006 12:58 PM

Tess, the pup will be nine weeks when we pick him up in two weeks. How about Morehead City for a few days before we pick him up ? Or should it be Wilmington ? And what about a name for our new bloodhound pup? Any suggestions?

JAGIRL Jul 21st, 2006 01:04 PM

a nine week-old hot blooded dog.

Darling!! :D

I'm sorry...I just couldn't help myself.
I do hope you get the info you're asking about.

Starrsville, LOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLL

"And what about a name for our new bloodhound pup? Any suggestions?" sorry but I just HAVE to steal Starr's suggestion: name him "Hot Dog"

Malesherbes Jul 21st, 2006 01:44 PM

thehumps...you need a new name, maybe like, "that dog don't hunt"? lol

kgh8m Jul 21st, 2006 02:28 PM

I think Wilmington is too far away from Charlotte and Ohio to make it a viable stop in a 4 day vacation period. Columbus to Wilmington is a 10.5 hour drive, and Wilmington is NOT terribly convenient to Charlotte.

I'd do a stop in the NC or WV mountains - perhaps visit Lake Lure in NC if you need a water destination.

Congrats on the new pup! (I vote for naming him Sherman.)

<Any suggestions?>

Put lots of newspaper down in the car.

JAGIRL Jul 21st, 2006 03:35 PM

>>>>Any suggestions?<<<

Get several barf bags.

Stop frequently.

I think "Sherlock" would be a perfect name for a bloodhound.

I know he will be adorable!
