HMMMM..... May 23rd, 2001 07:37 AM

"Bill" being able to read and write a deent sentence doesn't mean you can type one (as angela said) besides this is a busy world who has time to proofread when posting on a travel board!?!!

troll May 23rd, 2001 08:04 AM

Why don't I believe Angela either?

X May 23rd, 2001 08:36 AM

Troll - you probably don't believe Brianne or Angela because you are just that , a TROLL. If a person skips one grade in elementary school which is often done and takes Advaned Placement classes for college credit in high school as well as attends summer school graduating college in 3 years, they can earn a bachelor's degree at 19. As for getting married at 18, well . . . that is another story.

Brianne...

If you really want to get married... just go to the local Justice of the Peace and have a civil ceremony. Then plan a party where and when you want it.
Don't plan on walking into any "quaint" New England town and convoncing the local parish priest/pastor to marry you... we New Englanders are way more conservative than that! And if you really are who and what you say you are... wait anyway. You'll never regret your decision to postpone your marriage... especially if you really believe the vows you'll be taking. Good luck, and by the way... go back and finish Basic English!

lawyer May 23rd, 2001 09:26 AM

Most lawyers these days have their own computers and do not rely on secretaries to spell for them. And, you will find that lawyers check and double check spelling and grammar even when posting on a travel board. They just can't afford to make mistakes. The more important question is why are we responding to this silly post?

Secretary May 23rd, 2001 09:47 AM

Lawyer, you're right that most lawyers have their own computers, but many still don't know how to use them properly, and we secretaries are relied upon as much as ever. Admit it. You couldn't get along without one. (Sorry this has nothing to do with the original post, but I couldn't resist.)

Stump May 23rd, 2001 09:53 AM

You people need a social life.
The initial post is purely TROLLING, and pretty weak trolling at that.
The debate about how old people are when they get various degrees is ridiculous. There's an 11 year old kid in Georgia in college. So what? That's got nothing to do with anything relevant to this site.
Move on people and let this insultingly stupid post die the death it deserves.

I feel stupid responding to this troll post but I wanted to clarify on the attorneys and computers issue. I am an attorney and I have a computerwhicch I only use for email to look up documents in our network system as all pleadings are saved in network and pleadings reeived from others are scanned in. I also use my computer for researching things both on the internet and Westlaw. However, neither I nor any of the other 50+ atorneys in my office EVER types his/her own documents. We strictly do dictation. I dictate while walking back from ourt, riding in my car, taking the subway etc. It is muh more efficient especially since I never took typing classes and cannot for the life of me type! I do however closely proofread all correspondence and ourt documents typed by my secretary. I agree though that I would never take time too proofread a posting on a travelboard as time is money!

How old is the future husband? Does he have a job? How long you known one another? 18 is not too young if you know what you are getting into. I married at 19 had child number 1 at 22 and child number 2 at 35. I am now 50 and have been married 31 years happily. I had dated my husband for 2 years and we both were in college when we got married. yes it was hard being a married couple in ollege when everyone else was out catting around but we worked hard and survived. Age is not important only maturity.

ArnieBecker May 23rd, 2001 11:45 AM

Angela-Guess what? No one gives a rats ass what you do for a living or that you are an attorney for pete's sake. Why the hell do you feel it necessary to post your work habits here? By the way, most attorneys I know are far too busy to post on an internet site, which makes me believe you are really a troll who is either trying to get attention or is bored! In either case, go somewhere else you silly twit!
