Just realized I never posted the link to my Morocco TR. Part of it I was on an Intrepid tour, but Rabat at the beginning and Essaouira and Marrakech at the end were solo.

Solo, but in a group: is that a bit of a contradiction in terms? Anyway, here's South Africa, July 2009:

Thank you for starting this list, and thank you to everyone for contributing. :)
I'm a bum and never did a trip report for my UK and Ireland trip. :( |
Since someone just topped this, I though I'd mention that I'll be blogging my next trip - solo to Georgia, Armenia, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan and Istanbul. I won't be leaving until Sept. 10th, but I'm also blogging about the preparations. If anyone's interested it's at mytimetotravel.wordpress.com .

Absolutely anything I can do to encouragae/inspire one 'n all (at any age) to travel solo - color me THERE!
As a grandmother of 6 who's spent a lifetime traveling off-the-beaten path solo (even founded/ran my own adventure travel company to Belize & Costa Rica for 20+ years) check out my 6 week amble 'cross South Africa and Mozambique - as a near sexagenarian!: http://www.travelpod.com/members/globalgirl Travelin' solo opens you up to the locals/culture (which is why I travel of course!) And after all - if you wait for a hometown pal to coordinate travel dreams/time/$$$/druthers - you'll surely miss out on a good many wondrous corners of the world, no? My next far-flung adventure? Come September, I'll be riding a camel in the Sahara in Morocco! ;) |
On a solo "Around Australia" (well, sort of) - bicycle trip in 1995.

What a great idea! Thanks, Amy.
I travel solo frequently and I love doing it. |
Here's an oldie on Peru that I just rediscovered; I love Peru so much I'm planning to return for the third time in July! (Although the bulk of my trip is to Chile.)

http://www.fodors.com/community/afri...iddle-east.cfm I didn't do a TR here for Georgia and Armenia, but my blog posts for that part of the trip are at mytimetotravel.wordpress.com |
