Ditto to my good friend, Scarlett. Giovanna, your notes are a great travel planner. I highly recommend anyone else planning a BsAs visit request them of you. You are a gracious traveller to share them with us!

I had to smile about the Yankee's comment about ignoring all your research when you get to your destination. I had at least 1" thick printouts and notes I'd typed for each Savannah and St. Augustine. Condensed them down before I left and we probably looked at them a few times (as well as our itinerary, which I always type up with pertinent airline info, hotel confirmation nos. etc.), but we did lots of things I had no research on. That's what makes it fun; not sticking to a schedule.

Suggestion: more focus on afternoons and nights in small non-tourisy restaurants that feature tango ... that is the heart of the great city of BA. One cannot get enought of it!!! Safe travels, and enjoy the tango. Ciao

It is nice to know that the None Smoking rules are going to take effect, before we arrive. It would not stop me ( they smoke in Paris too!) but it will make it a bit easier on me ( red eyes, sneezing & hacking are not that attractive) .. Now about that Pick up after your Pup law? lol

Giovanna, exactly, if we find ourselves befuddled ( happens all the time) we can refer to The List. We don't have to follow it but it will be there when we need it.

Thanks for the kind words Scarlett! I don't really remember a problem with second hand smoke when we were there. Hadn't heard about new non-smoking regs, but good for them.

I think you will enjoy the dog walkers in BsAs. I took pictures of several. It's really remarkable how they keep their broods together. Saw one with a puppy, who was going off in all directions. He/she was on a separate lead. The rest of the gang went along with their usual routine, and I'm sure the pup will soon be in step with his group. I'm sure you've seen them before, having lived in NYC, but the BsAs bunch seemed to have a certain panache.

There were two areas where the dogs were taken to run free in a fenced area and another nearby where they were staked and running about. The fenced area was near our hotel and one day on our start somewhere I walked over to the fence and got woofed good and proper. Just wanted to make nice, but evidently didn't do well enough in Spanish to suit them. They knew a stranger when they saw one!

Awww, Giovanna, I can see it now, that puppy lol. That is where the Pack mentality is good, a puppy learns from the big guys how to go on a walk, my Pup would love it too. Although, he has no idea that he is a dog, but he loves hanging out with dogs ((&))

It is good to know they have dog runs there that are fenced in..maybe someday Pup will get to visit too~

I picked up a beautiful young nearly pure German Sheperd bitch a couple of years ago, after seeing her lost in my neighborhood for several days.
After repeatedly looking for signs or ads from her owners, we adopted her.
She is wonderful and simply adores us.

If we decided to move to BsAs, we would have to figure out how to fly our pup there...he would be so happy ..he is such a social pup about town ((&))

I loved the story about Daisy (I know a Westie by the same name, it does suit). AVRooster, our shepard came to us and we have had her for nearly ten years. A more faithful dog is hard to imagine!

Question:
I ordered a menu translator and got it today, Food and drink in Argentina. But it is absolutely not what I want :( So I am getting the Marling Menu Master in Spain.
Do you think that I will manage well enough with the Spanish translations? Since we don't eat red meat, I just want to be sure we don't end up eating brains for dinner...It has happened before, I ordered a salad in Paris once and mistook the French word for mussels with tongue..lol...

Scarlett, let us know how you survive in BsAs Not eating red meat. It's a big question on my husband's mind. He eats chicken and fish, and has given up red meat. I'm almost a vegetarian, eating fish occasionally, but mainly vegetarian. Have a wonderful trip. Annetti

I am sure we will do fine. We travel all over the place and it hasn't been a problem yet, since we eat chicken and fish..and I hear BsAs has some good Italian food :) It is a good thing we walk a lot because we will probably be needing to walk off all the great food we will be eating!
