I am also planning my honeymoon, and I have to say I am leaning towards the Adventura Spa Palace instead of the Royal Hideaway. I think the Adventura has alot more to offer, and you pay about $900 less for seven nights. If you stay at the Adventura Spa Palace for seven nights, you get:
2 free Tours per person
1 free manicure and pedicure per person
1 free massage per person
I think it is totally worth it for all the extras that are provided. They don't have a beach access resort, but they have a lagoon that you can snorkel in and everything. I have also been warned about the rocky beaches, so we have decided to stay at the Adventura. You can stay there and play at all the resorts. Since, they have resort in Cancun, you get a free shuttle there! This is just my opinion, and I hoped I helped. Please let me know if you want any more information on the Adventura.

What is the best way to book a trip to the Adventura? Via directly on there web site, or TA or some other web site?
