Photos from Nicaragua trip

Hopefully this link will work so I don't have to send out individual invites: http://www.kodakgallery.com/I.jsp?c=...0&y=gbn009

These are from the 3 nights I spent in Granada and the 4 at Morgan's Rock. Apologies in advance for excessive Howler pics ;)

Welcome back, tully! Thank you for sharing your photos. They are wonderful. I've always been in love with Granada, so I espcially like those.

glover Nov 4th, 2007 01:43 PM

Great pictures, Tully, thanks for sharing. Look forward to your trip report.

atravelynn Nov 4th, 2007 02:35 PM

Beautiful photos. Your labeling helped a lot. It is not possible to have excessive monkey photos. Nice parrots too.

Thanks for sharing your pics, tully; it looks really beautiful! How did you think it compared to CR?

ttraveler Nov 4th, 2007 04:32 PM

Tully,
I enjoyed seeing your photo's, especially Morgans Rock. It really looks like a beautiful spot.

Percy Nov 4th, 2007 05:34 PM

hi tully

Welcome back.

Enjoyed all your photos.

I also liked Granada.
It sure has some nice old building there.... too bad that many of them just need a good coat of paint.

What did you think of the Masaya Volcano!

How terrible was the sulphur smell!

They tell people with Asthma not to be there for more than about 15 minutes.

Where did you fly to( in Nicaragua) from Florida.?

Oh yes, one more thing, don't you think the roads in poorer Nicaragua are better and nicer than in Costa Rica.

Thanks again for sharing all those pictures and Yes I looked at everyone.!

Percy

Great pics!
Morgans Rock is on my list!

Wonderful photos! Nicaragua has just moved up on my list of places to visit.
Thanks for posting them.

tully Nov 5th, 2007 03:55 AM

Thanks all :) I will try to get a trip report soon before my forgetfulness sets in!

Percy I found the roads even worse than in CR, with exception the Pan American. The last 20 minutes or so before Granada were bone jarring and very slow going, and the 1 hour drive from Rivas to Morgan's Rock was a mix of hard bumpy dirt road and soft muddy dirt road. The driving itself is very similiar though! All over the road (swerving to avoid monster potholes), beeping a stop signs while rolling thru them, etc, crazy! The sulphur smell wasn't too bad at Masaya but at the top (with the cross) there were oddly tons of bugs (which were very rare my whole trip) so we did not linger. I can't believe they used to throw virgins in there in sacrifices - what an awful way to go. I flew Tampa-Miami-Managua, very short flights!

Morgan's Rock was definitely lovely, no request was denied and the staff was so eager to please.

Hi tully

Boy something must have happened to the roads in Nicaragua because they were as "smooth as glass" a few years ago.

I remember commenting on how much better the road were than in Costa Rica ! Hmmm!

Yes ,I agree I sort of got the chills when I was told they sacrificed virgins and children on that hilltop with the cross.

Glad that Morgans Rock was a relaxing ending of your trip

Percy

Tully, I've already told you my favorites, but forgot to mention Masaya Volcano--those were amazing! Very unusual. And no, there weren't too many howlers! Great pics--looking forward to your report. . .

Thanks for sharing your photos. They reinforced my desire to visit Nica.

Thanks for posting.

I'll be in Nicaragua on vacation in March, mostly Granada and the lake, but maybe some time in Leon.

Its nice to see some photos.

Thanks for posting. It confirms that I've made the right decision in choosing to go to Nicaragua, and now I'm looking forward to it even more.

tully Nov 7th, 2007 10:28 AM

Thanks yto all of you for your nice comments! I am soooo swamped right now but will soon mash a trip report out!

flycatcher06 Nov 7th, 2007 02:52 PM

your pictures were beautiful - I agree also you can never have too many monkey photos - did you feel safe in Nicaragua - driving - walking in the woods and on the beach? Did you drive yourself? Thanks! Debbie

shillmac Nov 7th, 2007 04:03 PM

Okay, flycatcher06, you've joined the ranks of mistaken sex identity. . .sounds ominous, doesn't it?

Jeff thought I was a guy for awhile, and I thought YOU were a guy--all this time! I guess it's good that we women don't sound too "frilly" when we write! :)

Percy Nov 7th, 2007 06:48 PM

shillmac

You mean you are NOT a guy!!!

Oh my Goodness! Then your a girl O:)

Well why didn't you say so sooner.

Here is something for you ((F))

Percy ;)

Really nice pics, tully. I'm looking forward to hearing some of the details once you've settled back into 'real' life.
