I am in Puerto Vallarta Mexico for a month. If anyone has any questions or needs updates about things around town, I am happy to help ... if I can. sincerely, suze

Have a great time. A month is a nice amount of time. I was in PV my very first trip to Mexico way back in the early 90's.

Wishing you a fun and restful time in PV!

Percy Oct 10th, 2017 03:34 PM

have fun suze! I'm jealous.

suze Oct 11th, 2017 10:10 AM

you should be ~~ for tom42! it's fabulous.

weather is GORGEOUS, town is not too busy. it's not quite "season" yet, a few popular restaurants still closed from the summer.

i took a walk around Centro Sunday afternoon (ok it was raining a bit that afternoon) and was the only gringa to be seen.

Percy Oct 11th, 2017 10:31 AM

Is the Liz-Burton archway bridge still there.?

suze Oct 11th, 2017 12:40 PM

i think so Percy, i think that's where Hacienda San Angel B&B and restaurant is?

honestly i don't get up that way... i stay in Zona Romantica near the beach, that and Centro are more my stomping grounds.

Percy Oct 11th, 2017 01:48 PM

Are you hsving a Corona or Dos Equis ((B))!!!! :)

cabron Oct 12th, 2017 05:18 AM

Downtown is Colonia Centro.

katybird Oct 12th, 2017 05:52 AM

Good for you! I understand your excitment!
Is this the longest you have stayed?

orangetravelcat1 Oct 12th, 2017 08:38 AM

Enjoy! Sounds wonderful.

suze Oct 12th, 2017 09:02 AM

<You took a walk around Centro? Don't you mean Central?>

baldone~ No, I don't. I mean "el Centro". That is the correct name for downtown PV.

katybird~ Yes. I typically come for 2 weeks & twice a year, but this is the first time I was able to get 4 weeks together off from my full time job in Seattle. Thanks for asking. It's a lovely feeling.

Percy~ neither Corona or Dos XX... Modelo is my beer of choice ;-) bought a 6-pack up at Ley just this morning.

Percy Oct 12th, 2017 04:06 PM

Okay suze ...there is no such thing as bad beer !!! ( I think).

I have had all three brands.

Timely , just watched a movie this afternoon filmed in Puerto Vallarta, " The Night of the Iguana ".

Stay warm :S-

janisj Oct 12th, 2017 05:18 PM

>>The Night of the Iguana <<

I watched it too - on TCM. Hadn't seen it for years. Hard to imagine <i>that</i> movie put PV on the map.

Have a great month!

yestravel Oct 12th, 2017 05:34 PM

Do they still have the statue of Liz and Dick?

suze Oct 13th, 2017 04:25 AM

janisj~ I don't think it was the movie itself, more that John Huston, Liz & Dick and their crowd "discovered" PV and started hanging out here as a vacation retreat.

yestravel~ Si, the statue is still in front of the restaurant by the north bound bridge over the Rio Cuale.

yestravel Oct 13th, 2017 05:22 AM

It remains in the same place it was ever so many years ago.

tom42 Oct 13th, 2017 05:44 AM

<<the statue is still in front of the restaurant by the north bound bridge over the Rio Cuale.>>

The River Cafe?
