Very nice, great colour. Was there just 1 pic selected for the book or did they pick several? Will they be posting them online or do we have to wait for the book?

OMG, I looked through your pictures and they are absolutely GORGEOUS. My two most favorite are the evening sky in pink with the dark trees in the forefront and the picture of the butterfly that was blue and brown (the blue eye spots on it's back).

We hope to display more of the photos for this and future contests. We have our hands full at the moment with the Forums upgrade but it is on our to-do list!

FWIW, I think pictures of beautiful CR are easier to come by than pictures of Florida- maybe that explains the prize..

Yes, we launched a new Florida contest today. While we'd like to include a trip for the winner for every contest, we were unable to get a prize sponsor for Costa Rica. I still think that the best part of the contest(s) is seeing fellow members photos in the actual guides. Our first guide to feature photos submitted by members is Alaska 2009; it came out in December. It's really a beautiful book; if you happen to be in a bookstore I'd highly recommend checking it out.

It's really been a lot of fun seeing the entries and we are dedicated to showcasing more photos and making it easier for everyone to share their photos in the months ahead. Most of our attention has been focused on the Forums upgrade that has kept us busy the last few months. It should make its debut in February.

On a personal note, the contests have been really inspiring. After each one I'm convinced that "I must go there"... I went to Alaska this summer so I at least have that destination "checked off" my list. Now I just need to make it to Israel, Turkey, and Costa Rica (we've run contests for all three). We also did a summer vacation contest and there was one photo entered for a place in Norway--Preikestolen--I must go there as well. The photo looked a little like this one but was even better:
