Sorry shillmac, we did go on an evening walk with him }looking for birds,of course!}, and even sat with him at dinner a bit, but didn't think to exchange e-mails - rats!

I've tweaked the itinerary once again, probably not the last either.

I took 1 night away from Savegre Lodge and made a last stop for 1 night at Poas Volcano Lodge. So now the trip is as follows:
arrival in CR and 1st night at Orquideas Inn, Arco Iris(Monteverde/Elena) 3nights, Villa Lapas 2 nights, Costa Verde(MA) 2 nights, Savegre Lodge 3 nights, Orosi Lodge 2 nights, Poas Volcano Lodge 1 night, and then back to the airport.

When I get back I'll post some photos with a link to them.

I think you have a fantastic itinerary. If you need to "tweak" further, you could drop a night from the Orosi Valley. Very few people mention this area on Fodors, and it is a great area. I am curious to find out what you think. Enjoy!
