Thanks Saltshaker. Just to clarify, I don't expect anyone to change their menu to suit my needs, even when I attend dinner parties here in my city with friends.

I didn't want to impose upon you a special request to have a non red meat item for my dinner.

I am definitely planning on checking out your menu as I get closer to my date of arrival. Hopefully you will have an option that works for me but if not, are you encouraging me to contact you to see if you could possibly replace the meat dish with another option? If so, it's a date!

Thanks for posting your reply.

Best regards,

Tamara

Eurotraveller:
I guessed that you weren’t looking for a sailing boat with waiters, lunch over a table and gourmet menu. Who I was not sure about was Avrooster…

Avrooster:
Three will not be a crowd, probably will be more than three

So, I have to start

avrooster May 5th, 2007 05:28 PM

Get started NOW, not "mañana"!!! LOL!!!

eurotraveller May 5th, 2007 10:30 PM

Okay Gaucho, yes, ideally I want a gourmet lunch on a sailboat with a few fun people! :-))

With Saltshaker as a professional chef and you as a captain we will have a wonderful time! I make a great sous chef and skipper!

avrooster May 6th, 2007 07:59 AM

And what is a poor rooster supposed to do? LOL!!!

saltshaker May 7th, 2007 03:44 AM

poor roosters make good stewing birds... perhaps a nice caldo de... ;-)

Tamara, yes, if you're interested in what we offer as an experience, drop me a line. I'd venture to guess you'll find we're pretty accommodating to special dietary needs or requests - we don't change the whole menu, but if workable, we come up with a version of the "problem" dish for you. And/or, check out the other possibilities I mentioned - certainly for the tasting menu idea, Diego Felix offers that in a vegetarian with some fish version. In terms of the whole communal table thing, I have to admit, I'm not sure that anyone really does what we do - but then, I haven't gotten to all of the puertas cerradas yet...

That's a good one, saltshaker! Caldo de gallo! That would work perfectly for my dinner! :-d

Avrooster, you, of course, would be one of the "a few fun people." ((*))

avrooster May 7th, 2007 06:48 AM

Well, euro/WJ, I don't expect to participate in that dinner because my religion does not allow me to consume such a thing as "caldo de gallo". Not that I have been invited, anyway!! LOL!!

As far as being just one of the "a few fun people.", I guess that's OK. (Sigh).

gauchoretobado May 7th, 2007 11:20 AM

It seems that a big kitchen will be needed in the sailboat! Better I look for a “patacho”

Patacho: heavy and slow sailboat. (How to make it to "move gracefully and soundlessly across the water"? may be drinking a lot of wine)

eurotraveller May 7th, 2007 04:28 PM

I would be happy to do that! ((d))

avrooster May 7th, 2007 05:43 PM

"Caldo de gallo" is "verboten" for me and, to make it worse, I don't drink. I'm afraid I'll find myself unavailable for that dinner!! LOL!!!

eurotraveller May 8th, 2007 09:40 AM

Avrooster, you can be designated sailor then! We will have to change your name to Captainrooster! :-))

avrooster May 8th, 2007 11:22 AM

That would mean that I would be in command!! Sounds great!! I can simply give the order and make someone "walk the plank"!!! Wonderful!! ROTFLMAO!!

eurotraveller May 8th, 2007 01:42 PM

I will have to promise to behave then, I suppose...

avrooster May 8th, 2007 02:26 PM

Skipper WJ: Ilana 123, who has reappeared in the TA forum after a long absence, is a great girl and should certainly be on board the Gaucho's "patacho". LOL!!
