Will have to check my husbands lists to see if he has seen the hooded warbler. Sounds like a good one to look for. The Scarlet Rumped are everywhere. Unfortunately they are one of the several birds that are messing up all the current bird books. They have discovered that there are actually two species and are no longer called the scarlet rumped. The only way to tell the difference is by location or by looking at the females. One is now called the Cherries tanager and the other is the Passerini's (sp) tanager. Just when I get the hang of their names they change them on me.

Yes, Eduardo at BDC called them Passerini's Tanager. I had forgotten about that until you mentioned it. I had seen one in Golfito and asked him about it.
