Bellaboo! I've missed you! Think about fairly often when I remember 2 places you've been that I still want to go--Isla Providencia and that little place near Puerta Vallarta, yelapa?

Sounds like you guys have been busy--congrats on your kids' accomplishments--gee they've grown up!

Nice to "see" ya!

Jaguarman -- Of course you are more than welcome to join us - you will be our guest of honor! You know the dates so just keep us posted on when we can meet up. :-)

Percy -- Tsk, tsk, you'll be missing yet another fabulous time, but of course I'll take you up on the drinks. ;-)

faithie so glad to hear from you, it's been a while! Cool on getting the kids certified.

bellaboo Feb 15th, 2011 06:12 AM

Thanx Tully! Almost made it to Costa Rica, next time.....just peeked at your Osa pics, they were great. Looking at the Cabinas, trying to choose the best one for us, also looked at Paloma Lodge($$), and Lapa Rios($$$), yikes! Always seem to come back to Bosque.

bellaboo Feb 15th, 2011 07:09 AM

I'm thinking the "classic" cabinas( Pizote, etc.) are the best option for us? I'm getting confused with their choices..., lol.

hipvirgochick Feb 15th, 2011 10:04 AM

bellaboo -- Pizote has been completely rebuilt and it's not a classic anymore it's a deluxe. It was/is one of my favorite spots but if you want a classic Sol next door is just as great.

shillmac Feb 15th, 2011 06:14 PM

Yeah, and Sol has that shower. . . . .

:D

Deb I was just thinking about you, wondered if you ever got to see the pic? Because Philip has a weekly blog and a few days ago he updated with even more photos (stunning!) and a lot of background info. http://felipedelbosque.wordpress.com/

Deb15July Feb 26th, 2011 05:32 AM

Thanks for the update tully. Very nice pics in the link, but will have to read the blog later.

Unfortunately, our plans for a vacation to CR or Belize are non-existent at this time. Those damn airfares are outrageous this year. Still hoping that will change, but nothing has moved down...only UP!!!

But...headed to New Orleans next weekend for Mardi Gras, so at least we get to go somewhere. :-)

steph270 Feb 26th, 2011 02:05 PM

Great pics!!! Bookmarked to read later :-)

DEAN45
After taking the Pacific Trail down to the beach, you will pass the rocks, pass the tidepools then look for the turtle nesting sign "43". You will see the 43 just tacked on a tree. Follow the stream, right after the sign, to the waterfall.

Wish I could join you al for the GTG. We also fell in love with BDC on our first visit last May.

topping for anyone thinking of staying at Bosque the first week of July :)

Deb15July Mar 9th, 2011 05:56 PM

I keep hoping!

shillmac Mar 10th, 2011 03:02 PM

deb, are you still thinking about it?

Deb15July Mar 10th, 2011 03:44 PM

Still thinking, but not much progress has been made. Just got back from New Orleans last night after several crazy days at Mardi Gras, so now I can focus on the next trip!

Hubby wants to do a couple of one week vacations instead of one extended one. He really wants to go to the beach...for years and years we went to Fernandina Beach on Amelia Island. The whole family loved it, but kids are grown and I would prefer somewhere else for a change.

I was considering a week in CR split between the Dominical area and BDC, but the air fares are still thru the roof. Plus I'm not sure if that would give us enough time.

I'll keep checking in!

two puma cubs and mama just spotted on teak plantation trail yesterday. :-)

ttt with a link to Philip's blog (Bosque's Biologist) http://felipedelbosque.wordpress.com/

Deb15July Apr 15th, 2011 06:18 AM

All,
Doesn't look like the GTG is in the cards for us this year. Airfares are too high and DH wants to split his vacation into two trips. One will be to the beach (we can drive) and the other to San Fran and Monterrey area.

Hope you have fun and I look forward to all the pics. Maybe next time.

hipvirgochick Apr 15th, 2011 07:34 AM

airfares ARE crazy! i'm so glad i had ff miles to use. have a great vacay wherever you go deb!

Just thought I'd note to anyone considering a green season trip to Bosque they are running a green season special right now, on their website rates page.
