Thank you, drdawggy, for bestowing upon us your unlimited wisdom!

BTW, doc, what is a "tellar window"?

And how many pesos are a "thousan pesos"?

Just kidding, as you know. I'll bet you miss me in the "other place".

eh, sorry....I posted very early this AM without spell check....

Maybe I got the idea across, however inexpertly.

Magellan_5: did the good doctor get the idea across, in spite of his lack of spell checking expertise? LOL!!!

Magellan_5 Apr 17th, 2008 06:21 AM

Yes, he got the message across very well - I understood perfectly. Thanks so much, Dr. Dawggy, and thanks, avrooster.

Great, Doc, you don't really need the spell-checker. People understand you anyway.

I duly note that drdawggy deserved a "thanks so much" and I only got a curt "thanks".

Just kidding. LOL!!!

MnJ:

We were in Argentina a couple of years ago but do not remember what the limit was per transaction to take out money.

However, if the limit is truly low and you must repeat the transaction many times, that would make it very expensive as there is a fee charge per transaction.

We used AMEX traveler cheques and while it was a pain waiting at the bank and going through their stupid procedures we could cash what ever we wanted at a fixed percentage.

To give you an idea of the rediculous procedure. They had to photocopy our passport and would not accept a copy we had for them. One time they told us that their copy machine was out of order so we should go down the street to get the needed copy!! What?

In any case, you might want to consider the AMEX cheques.

Woodie
