Your Favorite Florence Restaurants
Hello,
What are your favorite Florence Restaurants, both for lunch and for dinner. Why is it your favorite - excellent food, service, atmosphere, etc. Interested in a variety of price points - so name away!! |
Just went to Yellow Bar and liked it very much. Delicious gnocci, also cheap! Place was jammed with locals.
|
This one is excellent for food, service and atmosphere. Definitely my favourite in Florence
Trattoria Croce al Trebbio Via Delle Belle Donne, 47-49R Tel: 055-28-7089 Just off via Tornabuoni. |
Cafaggi - a 60's style family run place with good old fashioned food, grandparents still working alongside the younger generations.

Florence is awash with great, fabulous restaurants. Ones we ate at on our last trip included--
La Hosteria da Mimmi, beyond the Medici Chapel, is buzzing at lunchtime [1pm-3pm]. Farro soup and pork roast fabulous I Fratelini, literally a hole-in-the-wall, 2 blocks from Piazza Signoria towards Piazza della Repubblica, on Via Cimiterio. wondrous panini and wine. On-site over 100 years continued next blog |

OLTRANO -- across Ponte Vecchio Celestino -- about 150 feet on the left from bridge, Vasari Corridor goes over it. Ask for & tell the owner Bruno that WebVisionItaly sent you before you order. Bruno may then plan your luch/dinner as he did for us: tagliarini with trufles, bistecca fiorentina, macedonia di fruta, vin santo. Just thinking about it brings tears to my eyes contined on next blog |

across Ponte Vecchio. on the right, take Borgo San Iacopo, Mamma Gina about 50 feet on your left. Prides itself on giving its clientele an authentic Tuscan experience. Their goal is to have customers experience their amazing wine cellar which is priced so that everyone can taste fine wines, not just the well-healed wine enthusiast . They believe eating is an entire experience. Tell them WebVisionItalycom sent you and you will be treated as family |

We loved La Giostra.
|
Always nice to know more decent eating places.
|
Another vote for La Giostra!!!
|
Teatro del Sale has been open for years...so it is hardly the "latest marvel" as the Motorino man/Web Vision booster/Remus has written.
And, Web Vision Man, if you are going to be plugging those videos, at least learn to spell: It is OLTRARNO, (other side of the Arno River) not OLTRANO. |
|
Another vote for Trattoria Croce al Trebbio. We had a wonderful meal there.
|
When we were in Florence 2 years ago, we ate 3 times at a wonderful little restaurant called
"Lo Scudo". The food was delicious and inexpensive. It's located behind the Duomo at Via dell' Oriuolo, 53/55r. There's a good review of it on SlowTrav. |
Trattoria Za' Za'
Piazza del Mercato Centrale, 26 Not fancy nor five-star. But terrific food and an all around great Florentine eatery. |
Wherever you go, try something with wild boar! It's really excellent sort of a mix between lean beef and pork but so tender and yummy
|
Yet another vote for La Giostra. the prince who started the restaurant passed away last year, but his son has continued the tradition and the restaurant has maintained its (well deserved) reputation. The service was lovely and the food was wonderful. True, it is not cheap but eating there is a great experience and, after all, you're in Florence!

I join in with the recommendation for Trattoria Za'Za'. Absolutely best pasta con fungi porcini.
I see that no one is suggesting Chingiale Bianco. It was terrific in 2004. Anna Roz |
