Unless someone has a more effective method, here are the fax #: 01-46-33-45-30 and the phone #: 01-43-29-12-05 both taken from the Fodor's 2004 guidebook.

For some reason the same guidebook lists a website that is not in effect. It's www.hotel-rsg.com. I always get an error message that it's not existing. So I don't know where Fodor's got it from unless something's missing.

lillaincroft, thank you! I spoke with the owner, who is such a nice man. Unfortunately, the apartment is booked for my timeframe, but he let me ask all kinds of questions regarding hotels and locations and I feel as though I made a new friend! Next time, perhaps!

My husband an I have travelled to France three times and we have always stayed at the Hotel O'Deon in Paris every time. It is a fantastic hotel and very well situated, and the price is right. I highly recommend it.

We loved staying at the Hotel De Louve. It is directly across the street from (dah) the Louve. It was so clean and a great location. Down the street is a fabulous bakery calle "Paul". Of course everything in Paris tastes great. Enjoy!

Stayed at the Hotel Lutetia on the boulevard Raspail on the Left Bank for our honeymoon and loved it. It's the only place we stay at whenever we return to Paris. Location in a wonderful neighborhood, very French style and ambience, elegant and chic interiors, extremely accommodating staff, a delicious breakfast buffet, penthouse suite with french windows overlooking Paris rooftops, huge posh marble-and-glass bathrooms, and lovely Eau d' Hadrien toilettries by Annick Goutal.

Hotel Relais Bosquet in 7th arrondisement. Has airconditioning, coffee in the room, breakfast downstairs not included in room rate. Not sure of room rate now- a year ago around $125.00 a night. Very helpful staff even before we arrived and even more so after arrival. An area of restaurants, a bakery right on the corner, Rue Cler St. and market behind hotel. Hotel was quiet. An excellent area to walk in. Near Eiffel tower. Metro station a block or so. I would stay there again.

Rentparis has a very nice apartment on Rue Ste. Croix de la Bretonnerie. We stayed there last February. Check out the website. I have rented with them twice. Never had a problem.

Patrick, do you know the difference between the moderate, superior, and duplex rooms at Hotel Relais Saint Sulpice (they also have standard and triple rooms)?

Our favorite is the Hotel des Saintes-Peres on the Rue des Saintes-Peres in the 6eme. The hotel is charming, quiet, welcoming and has a perfect location. The rooms are larger than many 3-stars. Imagine my disappointment when I called yesterday to reserve for our September/October trip to Paris and was told that all rooms had been reserved in a block for the trade shows. We are locked into the time because we are combining our Paris stop with a trip to Andalucia and our arrangements are made for that part of the trip. Any suggestions on comparable Paris hotels?

I love the area of the apartment on Rue Ste Croix de la Bretonnerie. It is very safe and very convenient to Metros (Rambuteau, Hotel de Ville and Chatelet (RER also)). It is not far from the river (3 or 4 blocks.) Not far from Place des Vosges and Pompidou center. I have stayed at the Hotel Bretonnerie on the same street, but much prefer the apartment. There are loads of places to purchase food in the area. We did walk down to Rue de Rivoli (4 blocks) to a monoprix and got staples for the kitchen, but wine, cheese, pate etc. from assorted shops in the area (Rambuteau). It is in the middle of a gay neighborhood, but it is not just that, my husband and I love the neighborhood. Now we only stay in the Marais. I also stayed at an apartment on rue braque, near the archives.

Hotel de Banville in the 17eme. Off the beaten track, charming rooms and service . . . sweet, helpful, courteous.
