I cannot say enough about how much a gentleman Kurt, the owner of Snooz Inn of Gent is. With the parking problem above, Kurt did every thing in his means to remedy it including paying the fine, which I did not request or in any way infer that he was responsible. I do not think he reads Fodor's, for I am sending him the payment for the fine.
BTW, his Inn is an outstanding place to stay under all circumstances. Check the reviews on any on-line service. Now I have numerous problems with Hertz Belgium including numerous charges that are contrary to the contract. And there was no representative at the Antwerp Train Station to accept the car, even though it was 3 PM on Thursday and the office was supposed to be open. Of all the times we have rented in Europe this is one of the worst customer experiences. I did not write a trip report about the rest of journey because I did not want to fight with the many of those self-righteous souls above. The one I did not write was really funny and clever, however. |
