Who's going to Italy in May?
 

Just wanted to see if I will spot some fellow Fodorites during our trip to Italy in May. We will be in Rome, Florence & Venice for two weeks starting on the 14th. Anyone else?

WE are in Rome May 13/14 then 7 nights in Amalfi then back to Rome May 22-25. We can hardly wait..28 days

We'll be in Milan and then the Italian/Swiss lake district (Bellagio on Lake Como then up to Lugano) for 10 days in mid to late May.

We are arriving in Venice on May 13th. After Venice we go to Tuscany, Sorrento, Lipari, and Rome. We'll be in Italy for 30 days.

We will be leaving Rome (earlier in Tuscany)on the 13th.

We did Tuscany,Umbria and the Lakes area last year. If I could do it over, I probably would have spent the entire time in Umbria and Tuscany. The travel time to and from Como "killed" one day.While I love the lakes,I would save them for when we are concentrating on northern Italy.

Heading to Italy on the 12th of May and flying home from Florence on the 27th. Will visit Lucca, lots of towns in southern Tuscany, Siena and 3 nights in Florence.

we're going for 3 weeks starting May 21 to June 11. Cannot wait either!

ME ME ME!
We're leaving on the 10th-18th Venice, Florence and Rome. Leaving from Miami and checking the weather closely. We just got a front which made us take out those sweaters again (low 50's in the morning brrrr!) So excited!

:) We will be in Rome, Florence and Venice from May 2-May 15, then to Paris till May 21.

We will be in Rome from May11-14, then Sorrento for 4 days, Florence for 3, Venice for 3, and Lake Como for 4, returning home on May 28. Can't wait!

We'll be leaving May 11th.Bellagio, Florence,Montalcino then depart from Rome.I'm so excited I'm dreaming in Italian!!

I wish! I had originally booked 26 May til 10 June for a trip to Italy, but had to reschedule it for September! Alas, but at least I will be there at some point.... :-)

Anyway, we will be leaving May 1 for Tuscany and Rome.

I will be in Italy in May. I'm planning on having a carefeeee interlude in my life. A friend and I will be renting a villa so wish us luck and adventure!

Leaving on May 3 - 2 nights in Rome at De Russie and 3 nights @ Lungarno in Florence. Then Wind Surf from 9-16, Rome - Nice. Anyone else on the cruise?

Maybe someone should take the lead here and see if a May Italy GTG would be possible. Define a date and place and see who responds. ((b))

Flying to Venice on April 27, arriving the 28th. 3 nights in Venice, 3 near Parma, 3 close to Cinque Terre, and 3 in Tremezzo on Como before flying out of Milan.

I will be in Europe May 12 - 28th with 12 of those days in Italy. First time for me and my husband! We will mostly be in Venice, Florence and Rome!

I'd love to have another get together! Here are my dates. If everyone add theirs, we can figure out the best time to meet:

We are off to Sicily in mid-May. This will be my third trip to Italy, but my first to Sicily. We will have 10 days to explore!!!

We are leaving on May 21-May 31st. We'll be visiting Rome, Amalfi coast and Tuscany. We just booked this so I'm scrambling for reservations!

Monica I sure wish we could cross paths again but our trip is in a different direction although about the same time. It would be a real treat to see you and your Mom again.

Does it count if I am leaving on the 29th of April? I guess so.
Will be in Bologna for 3 days, then drive up to Verona (thru Modena for their vinegar!!) then on to Lake Garda and Lake Como.
This will be my 5th time to Bella Italia but my 1st in this area. Can't wait!!!

Will be in Venice (only) from May 20-26. I had the pleasure of meeting up with Monica in November 2001 with my friend Betsy for dinner. On this trip will be with friends who have never been to Venice and my mother will be joining us at some point (her second time). Monica: Betsy said to say hi! Sounds like you have a great trip lined up.

There are some great itineraries planned for May! I?d love to vacation for 30 days.

Monica, It would be great to meet when you are back in South Florida. I am just finishing a great French cooking class and will gladly bring a couple of dishes or even host it in my home here in Fort Lauderdale. Perhaps I could do a Scallop appetizer..LOL

It would be fun if any of you Fodorites would like to join up too, it looks like our apartment has the whole rooftop as a patio, if it is true we could have a Fodorite Bash there.

Natalie, we could also have a poolside party cocktail/wine party at our place. We are right outside of Sorrento in a very private property called Villa Le Cikas.

I'll be traveling from Florence to Venice via Bologna and Verona for a couple of weeks starting May 2.

Should really have been spending more time on my Italian, but am traying to make up for it now!

Me too!!!! Leaving on the 18th, spending three days in Venice, 6-day walking tour of the Lakes Region and 2 days in Milan.

Haven't left for my trip this year and I am already planning my trip for next year. Sicily here I come!
