Hi all--posting from Vienna. I ended up having to do some work on Friday, which cut back on my museum time. I decided I really wanted to see the Klimts so went to the Belvedere. It was practically empty--almost no one around. The Klimts were great, although I liked the landscape paintings much more than The Kiss. There were some wonderful paintings by other artists as well. Friday was a HOT day, very muggy, but it's now cool and rainy.
Dining report: Morwald last night was terrific--elegant atmosphere and very welcoming service--definitely a thumbs up and I'd like to dine there again. Dinner was duck pate, served with Austrian chardonnay, followed by lobster in a cream sauce (more chardonnay), then a perfect piece of rare beef with fresh veggies (wine switched to Austrian pinot noir), and dessert was ice cream and some pastries (served with Banyols [sp?], a sweet wine from the south of France), then coffee and pear liqueur. Price about $120 (fortunately, I wasn't paying!). Zum Weissen Rauchfangkehrer tonight.
