We stayed at the Brunelleschi Hotel in Florence, and found it to be beautiful. Its not a large hotel, but the rooms are a good size and the location is perfect. Its modern, but has a very rustic feel. If you check out www.hotelclub.com they have great rates.
There is also a really cute outdoor wine bar right next to it!
