Where to stay in Bologna?
Would really appreciate recommendations as to what's the best area to stay in Bologna, and even better, specific recommendations for hotel. Not looking to break the bank, maybe around 150-180 euros, I'm going by myself. I'm just staying one night, on my way from Milano to Montepulciano . I just started planning the trip and I'm leaving in about 4 weeks!
Thanks for any comments. |
We liked the B&B Miramonte which is near the university; it has a web site.

Will you already have a car? Then I would recommend you use booking.com to locate something well-reviewed by the train station, for ease of parking outside the ZTL, but most of all I suggest you stay outside of town completely at an excellent restaurant.
http://www.amerigo1934.it/index.php If you won't have a car and are coming by train, I suggest Antica Casa Zucchini for a particularly lovely location. http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel_R...a_Romagna.html You really need to book your Bologna accommodations as quickly as possible, because you are heading into trade fair season. If you can't find anything affordable in Bologna and you are without a car, Florence is only another 50 minutes away on the train, in the direction of Montepuliciano. |
Another vote for Antica Residenza d'Azeglio. It's a relatively small B & B, so you may have difficulty getting a room on short notice, but it's just a fantastic place with the nicest, most accomodating proprietors anywhere. Check out some of the comments on TA.

We chose the Hotel Paradise and were very happy with our choice. It is very well located, has nice rooms and wonderful staff.
