Where to eat one meal in Lyon?
 

I will arrive in Lyon by train from Turin, and fly to Pau the next morning. I have a pre-paid reservation at an airport hotel, and previously visited the main tourist sights on a day trip from Annecy. However, it seems a shame not to eat dinner in town. I'd like recommendations for a place where I could get two courses and one glass of wine ideally under 40 euro, or perhaps 50 euro.

Following as I will be in Lyon in November. Still looking for hotel ideas for just a one night stay.

Gail, I'm sleeping in the NH Lyons Airport, but that's mostly so I can get up a bit later and still make my flight.

As far as where to eat your one meal in Lyon, try Les Trois Dômes, 20 quai Gailleton (www.les-3-domes.com/). There is also La Rémanence, 31 rue du Bat-d'Argent (http://laremanence.fr) and Restaurant Larivoire, 26 chemin des îles (www.larivoire.com/).

For somewhere more practical, there is Le Jean-Moulin, 22 Rue Gentil (www.lejeanmoulin-lyon.com), Le 126, 126 rue de Sèze (www.facebook.com/Le126) and L'alexandrin, 83 rue Moncey (www.lalexandrin.fr).

I am very partial to bouchons of any sort but my favorite is Le Garet on the street of the same name. Their saucisson chaude with lentils is fantastic--as is everything else. it's the quintessential Lyon Bouchon IMO. Lucky you.

We'll be in Lyon two nights, this coming Saturday and Sunday. I was interested in Daniel et Denise but it, and many other certified bouchons, are closed on weekends. We've reserved Le Sathonay for Sunday night but may look at Le Sud when we get to town. I'm keen to try Pizzeria Napoli on arrival, comfort food for jet lagged travelers!

Paul Bocuse is outside Lyon. A short drive. 3 stars if you wish.
