Where is St. Cirq?

Where is St. Cirq? She has been around for ages. I hope she is OK. Has anyone heard from her?

ThinGorjus Apr 14th, 2005 12:50 PM

HASN'T been around for ages. Sorry. Just had a big bowl of gin. :)

Marilyn Apr 14th, 2005 12:56 PM

Hi Thin, darling, I guess the sun is already over the yardarm where you live. A little detective work on my part indicates StCirq posted this morning, so I presume all is well.

rex Apr 14th, 2005 12:56 PM

Not that I support the taking of attendance around here... but she posted on this thread just today...

Best wishes,

Rex

Hi, Thin:

Just happened to check in for the first time in ages.

I've had two elderly parents in two separate hospitals on opposite sides of town for a month now, and more near-death experiences than I would have thought possible with both of them. I've been BUSY!

With luck I'll be able to come back and post again in the near future. I do miss my Fodors!

Betsy Apr 14th, 2005 01:16 PM

Thanks for checking in, St. Cirq. I've missed you too. Sorry to hear you're going through a "rough patch," as my British friends say. Take good care.

Marilyn Apr 14th, 2005 01:25 PM

StCirq, I'm so sorry to hear that. I will hope for the best. You must be worn to a frazzle -- don't forget to take care of yourself.

SuzieC Apr 14th, 2005 01:27 PM

ThinGorgeous... isn't this nice!? See? We are like a family.
Are you set for Sicily?

I wondered as well, earlier this week, figured she was over there...over the pond

Scarlett Apr 14th, 2005 01:40 PM

When times get tough, sit back, take a deep breathe and picture yourself in the Dordogne ((F))
Wishing you all the best~

toni Apr 14th, 2005 02:37 PM

Dear St Cirq,

My thoughts and prayers are with you. I have been through your situation and know just how emotionally and physically draining it is. You appear to be a very giving person, just take care of yourself too.

cigalechanta Apr 14th, 2005 02:48 PM

and while we are concerned about St Cirq where is Elvira? Capo? who have been gone longer.

OReilly Apr 14th, 2005 02:49 PM

Warmest wishes, St. Cirq, during these difficult times.

Best regards Ger

NYCFoodSnob Apr 14th, 2005 03:09 PM

There's nothing more precious than children who come to the aid of their parents when age and health make it necessary. God bless you and your family, StCirq.

cigalechanta Apr 14th, 2005 03:42 PM

just saw Mellen's post! Hoping all goes well, being older I went through those heart wrenching times several years back.
That's the worst part of being grown-up
the fear of losing our loved parents.

ThinGorjus Apr 14th, 2005 04:05 PM

Sorry to hear about your troubles, St. Cirq. I had a very bad time of it a few months ago, but I won't bore you with the details. I am not one to be maudlin.

Yes, Suzie, we are like a family--the Borgias. :)

Marilyn Apr 14th, 2005 04:09 PM

Some of us are more like the Mansons, I'm afraid.

Sue4 Apr 14th, 2005 04:25 PM

St. Cirq, so sorry to hear about your recent troubles. I do hope things will get better soon. You are always so helpful with your posts. I sure have appreciated your help with my up-coming trip in May to the Dordogne.

indytravel Apr 14th, 2005 05:17 PM

Hi StCirq,

I remember you posted you wouldn't make it to France in March due to your father's surgery. I feared it hadn't gone well since you've been absent.

I sincerely hope the best for you and your family.

tedgale Apr 14th, 2005 05:21 PM

You have many readers even among those who have never addressed their comments or posts or questions to you directly. Hang in there. TG

P_M Apr 14th, 2005 06:14 PM

St. Cirq, I would like to add my best wishes to you. My parents are still OK, but a few years ago I was assisting my mom in caring for my grandmother. It's a lot harder than anyone can imagine unless you've been there. Good luck.

elle Apr 14th, 2005 06:14 PM

Adding my warm wishes to those above St. Cirq. Hope you can find serenity in the midst of caring for others.

Flyboy Apr 14th, 2005 06:36 PM

Here's hoping for good things and positive developments for Madame C, a long-standing and highly valued member of our community here. All the best for you and your family.

Underhill Apr 14th, 2005 07:23 PM

Hope all goes well with your parents. Having two to care for is very, very difficult.

LarryJ Apr 14th, 2005 09:49 PM

To ST Cirq

All my best to you and best wishes for a quick get well for your parents. Come back soon I may need a shot of your expert help.

Best wishes to you and your folks, StCirq.

flygirl Apr 15th, 2005 05:21 AM

Mellen, very sorry to hear about your parents. If you need anything just call, I'm not so far away.

ThinGorjus Apr 15th, 2005 06:14 AM

So I guess you're Marilyn Manson? :)

Beautiful people, beautiful people....

Giovanna Apr 15th, 2005 06:26 AM

One more good wish for you St. Cirque. I understand how difficult it is for you, having been there many years ago for my parents and grandmother. More recently for my husband. Hope all goes well and you are able to slow down and resume your place here soon.

wren Apr 15th, 2005 06:28 AM

Mellon, you can tell you are well-loved here at Fodor's. Here's hoping that the days ahead get easier for you. Your parents are fortunate to have you caring for them. Warmest wishes to you and all of your family.

Marilyn Apr 15th, 2005 08:51 AM

Shhhhh, Thin, don't tell! :$

StCirq Apr 15th, 2005 09:33 AM

Thank you all very, very much. I'm truly touched by the concern of my fellow Fodorites and the emails I've received. It really put a smile on my ragged face.As does knowing that when this is all over there's a hillside in the Périgord watiing for me.
