There was a joyful day here last week when Delta slashed a whole lot of fares by hundreds and hundreds of dollars - - for about six hours.

Sorry you blinked.

Best wishes,

Rex

Don't get too hard on yourself...sometimes those "deals" are for flights and timings that most others don't want..and for good reason.
Face it: the cost of flying increases every year like all other prices generally increase..and this year's sale may or may not be as "cheap" as the prices were a year ago.

do you think 712.00 is cheap from the east coast to london and fly home from rome?

leaving phila...3/19/04....going air france with ...1 hr.layover in paris and then alitalia into marco pole a/p
outside venice...$399. & tax roundtrip..I ALWAYS GET BETTER DEALS DIRECTLY FROM THE AIRLINES>>NEVER ON THE NET>>>

Just a question--why are you expecting a big summer air fare special fare?

paula5 Mar 1st, 2004 07:02 PM

From what i gather- there is always a winter sale- spring sale-summer sale and a fall sale! If you check out all the sites everything right now is "spring sale". So....where is SUMMER?

It's only March 1st. Give it a chance.

June is right around the corner-After a cold, stay in the house winter, I am ready to travel!

Last summer seat capacity was over 85%. Since the airlines really reduced the number of flights the last few years the old days of "knowing" there will be summer sales is over. Don't count on it and if you see a deal don't hesitate. I was able to get RT fare from London to the Midwest for $369 incl. taxes for July BUT I booked this last October, this fare was only offered for 1/2 day. $712 (IF it includes taxes) for an openjaw in mid-summer that you describe is quite reasonable.
