Where in the World is NYCFoodSnob?

I kinda miss the gutsy old girl. Her direct and forceful food and fashion advice was just starting to influence my tasteless consumer behavior.

Calamari Sep 10th, 2004 07:48 AM

Hello Degas!!! I think it is you who is the giant influence here on the board. What? No more trip reports? I too miss NYCFOODSNOB. Hopefully, she will see this post and grace us with her words of wisdom soon. Perhaps she is too busy travelling, eating well and dressing fabulously to chat.

degas Sep 10th, 2004 07:58 AM

Hi Calamari

I expect even now she might be striding confidently down a small lane in Venice, dressed "to the nines" and bumping rubber-necking tourists into a canal as she heads towards a royal feast with a select group of rich, "in the know" locals.

Hey, I actually posted a real trip report on the US board a few weeks back - SF and the Coast.

Maybe the FoodSnob is fed up!

ChatNoir Sep 10th, 2004 08:15 AM

I think she moved to London, perhaps in Mayfair? Or was that really Liverpool?

capo Sep 10th, 2004 08:32 AM

I think the kid still has the rich imagination but, lately, has had to work too many hours at Taco Bell, leaving no time to post. :)

ThinGorjus Sep 10th, 2004 08:33 AM

I think Foodsnob is still at the BA Concorde lounge at JFK. Nobody has told her yet that the planes have been made redundant, so she keeps ordering more Krug. 250 days and still counting......

SuzieC Sep 10th, 2004 09:05 AM

I hope Venice! And has met up with a new friend who knows of new and interesting little restaurants...and has a villa out in the Tuscan countryside that only manages to bottle a few thousand a year (too few to market in America)...its the olive oil that keeps the estate running...and his horses...

ChatNoir Sep 10th, 2004 09:06 AM

Thingorjus, I see you still have a razor sharp wit! That image cracks me up.

Patrick Sep 10th, 2004 09:28 AM

Huh? I thought FoodSnob had a sex change that got botched and became m_kingdom.

Giovanna Sep 10th, 2004 09:47 AM

Let the games begin!

capo Sep 10th, 2004 09:58 AM

She looks so Italian with this stylish handbag...

capo, play nice! And anyway, the color is all wrong too.

FainaAgain Sep 10th, 2004 12:53 PM

Is this a coincidence that the snob is out and darvy kuntz is back?

Marilyn Sep 10th, 2004 01:01 PM

She's been very, very busy lately. OK?

Giovanna Sep 10th, 2004 02:42 PM

"When I grow old I'll wear purple," but could have sworn it was a red hat, not a red purse.

Jocelyn_P Sep 10th, 2004 05:51 PM

Marilyn, I hope all is well with her. Send her my best.

The kids must be bored. Thanks for the laugh, especially Thin's Concorde piece.

Someone had a last minute invite to the Venice Film Festival and who am I to resist an opportunity to hang with Nicole. (I would never bump somone into the canal without saying "excuse me" first.)

Only here for a short while before I go back. September and October are my favorite months to be in Europe.

Thank you all for thinking of me.
