Where in Germany? (#2)
The first batch went well. Let's try five more. Can you guess where these pictures were taken in Germany?
Photo #6 - http://www.bensbauernhof.com/whereingermany6.jpg Photo #7 - http://www.bensbauernhof.com/whereingermany7.jpg Photo #8 - http://www.bensbauernhof.com/whereingermany8.jpg Photo #9 - http://www.bensbauernhof.com/whereingermany9.jpg Photo #10 - http://www.bensbauernhof.com/whereingermany10.jpg A couple of easy ones and a couple of tough ones... . . . . . . . . . |
They all look familiar, but is #5 from Insel Mainau?
|
Sorry Anne - #5 (actually Photo #10) is not Mainau. It's probably the hardest to identify. Not a destination for most Germany tourists...
|
They're getting easier for me - Ben :-)
#16(guess) - Triberg? #7 - Bamberg Rathaus - LOVE that building! #8 - I dunno :-( #9 - not many would get this one - Church of St. Peter & Paul -Detwang #10 - (guess) Is that the back of Kloster Ettal? Guess where my favourite spot in the world is? |
I take back # 10
|
Oh my! Not a one I can recognize.
Well, guess it's time to get myself back to Germany. |
Photo #6 - ?
Photo #7 - Bamberg Rathaus (Aramis correct) Photo #8 - ? Photo #9 - Church of St. Peter and Paul in Detwang (a suburb of Rothenburg o.d.T.)(Aramis correct) Photo #10 - ? Aramis writes: Guess where my favourite spot in the world is? Since you LOVE the Rathaus in Bamberg it could be Bamberg - but being able to identify the church in Dewang leads me to believe you have spent a lot of time in Rothenburg o.d.T. - so I would guess one of those? Perhaps all of Bavaria? |
And Ben is correct with his guess of "All of Bavaria"!
|
#6 is a free hanging cuckoo clock (world's largest?) in St. Goar. Had me for a moment; I thought it looked like the middle Rhein, but the castle in the background isn't in ruins, which I thought Rheinfels should be. The view is the hotel at the end of the castle.
|
#6 - St. Goar. I think I have a picture, of myself, under that same clock.
I'm taking them one-by-one, so I'll see if I can figure out the rest. Val |
#6 It's right down the hill from Burg Rheinfells near St. Goar. I have this same shot.
|
Darn, I wasn't fast enough with the last one. I think #9 is Ettal. But it was raining the day I went and all I really remember is being cold and wet.
|
#8 - Burg Prunn in Ridenburg
Val |
Oops - It's Riedenburg.
|
I knew Photo #10 might go unanswered for a while. Not a location typically visited by foreign visitors...
Photo #6 - St. Goar (Rheinfels in the background) (Larryincolorado first correct) Photo #7 - Bamberg Rathaus (Aramis correct) Photo #8 - Castle Prunn (Riedenburg) in the Altmühltal (Fadoinka correct) Photo #9 - Church of St. Peter and Paul in Detwang (a suburb of Rothenburg o.d.T.)(Aramis correct) Photo #10 - ? (clue - in Lower Saxony) |
whoopee--I did get one. Number 6, Sankt Goar. I need to get out on the backroads more.
|
Hey Ben:
#9 looks like "My Picture" of St Peters in Detwang! I need a Rothenberg fix again! Good the hear from you Ben! John |
Thanks for the pictures, bavariaben. I'm happy to report that I recognized #6 (and I recognized 2 pics from the first batch) - and I haven't even been to Germany yet! But I have been doing a lot of research. BTW, thanks for your web page. It's a wealth of information. Peace, Robyn :)>-

# 10 is the Schloss in Celle.
|
Thanks for the great photos and memories - my trip was 5 years ago!
