As for me, I was born and grew up in NC. After college, lived in New York City, Alaska, and California. Now that my husband has retired, we're back here in NC, but continue to travel as much as possible (leaving next week for SW Ireland). The world and its people are so interesting, yes?!

This thread is now too long so I'll start a new one to welcome new posters. Lately there have been some threads frozen or deleted due to turning ugly. I think some of our new posters felt they were insulted or hurt by a few posters. Some have surly personalities but it doesn't mean it's directed at you, some who are so bright and talented, jump at eachother anytime they can, when they could be friends, sharing the same interests. the weather that has dangerously threatened friends and relatives has understandably frazzled some, so as summer comes to her end, and we are heading towards the holiday season, lets try for a gentler nicer end to this year.

I was born in Melbourne (Australia) and still live here, in a suburb called Ivanhoe, which is a beautiful leafy suburb, only 7kms from the city.
Melbourne was recently voted the most liveable city in the world (for the second time). It's a great place to visit!
