Good morning, world. It's 949h on a sunny Saturday morning in Paris. Sunny! For the second day in a row. I have eaten nothing yet, tea and juice while checking my e-mail. Actually checking the Fodor's site for an idea for dinner with a friend visiting from Amsterdam. Lunch on the fly today, moules frites probably squeezed between seeing the Matisse exhibition at Galerie Patrice Trigano near St. Germaine des Pres and a poke through an enormous depot de ventes in the 20th. Greetings all, and know, Paris is NOT always grey and rainy. Only most of the time. But when you wake up and look out the window and the world is bathed in sunlight, you know that Paris is indeed the belly button of the world. Or something!

Good Morning from New York (Upstate). A cinammon-raisin toast and hazelnut-flavored coffee is by my side. Rainy day, very windy, lots of leaves to rake already, the foliage this year is being sort of slow, but still inspiring. I am planning on apple picking later on the day so we can have some homemade apple sauce for the week. Little joys that are however, sadly clouded by past events. Life goes on and somehow, so should we....

Hi all. I'm in Cave Creek AZ, about 30 miles north of Phoenix,looking out the bedroom window, watching quail drink from the little pond we have created for the wildlife. (We get javalina, coyotes, rabbits, squirrels, and deer). It's 7 am here so it hasn't gotten hot yet (will be in the 90's today).

Fran nice picture what is a javalina?… and more importantly what is for breakfast? <BR> <BR>On my way out doors to hunt for a good cup of coffee, Gracie Mansion (Mayor's Residence is on the corner) next to it a wonderful park with a walkway over FDR drive and alongside this the east river. The park serves as a barrier from any cars, so it is one of the very few walkways I have found that you can look at the water and not hear the rum rum of cars. I like to imagine I am walking along a beach but it's beautiful enough on it’s own with out any mental embellishments. Trees fill one side of the park and of course you can see over to queens on the opp side. I greatly appreciate the night when the moon shines on the water. If the moon is not out there is usually a sprinkle of stars. And then of course there is a graceful splash of city lights that fill some but not all of the landscape. <BR> <BR> On rainy weekend days it is deserted and it feels like a boardwalk off-season. <BR> <BR>Oh I do recall recently seeing this in the new Ashly Judd movie. Not a movie I would recommend but there is a seen where she meets a bow for a walk and they make there way to John Finley Walk.... Have a good and productive day:)hmmm pastry or yogurt???? <BR>

Spent the early morning cleaning up dishes from a dinner party last night that lasted LATE , then off for a haircut in preparation for our trip to france in about a week, then home where i am no grazing on some leftover pita chips with black olive hummus and some Italin pepper spread, which I have just managed to drop down the front of my shirt! <BR> <BR>In the low 80's here in Orlando, really clousy sky with only patches of blue showing thru, and some rain clouds forming, maybe that will cool use down a little , know it won't help the humidity. The last few days have been glorious, the fall light has appeared and it's been breezy and down to 70 at night , great sleeping weather! <BR> <BR>Going to check up on my online friends, check out an auction I'm running on ebay, then take a nap before going out tonight to a friend's house for dinner!

Just finished paying bills on line. Warm and windy in Boston. Looks like the sun is out at the moment. Leaves are beginning to turn. Cupboards are bare and haven't eating yet today. Reading this thread reminds me it's time to go grocery shopping.

Sitting in my den in Las Vegas, looking out at the sunshine and blue sky (and the lawn, which desparately needs mowing). It's really beautiful today, 88 degrees, down considerably from the 98 we had earlier in the week. It's just gorgeous. I wish I could be outside--but not enough to use the lawn as an excuse. Supposed to be working, but playing hooky. <BR> <BR>This is a wonderful post. Thank you to all!

Good morning from Darwin, Australia. Our unit overlooks the Arafura Sea. I've just had coffee and toast to celebrate the day. The sky here is a little overcast and it's about 33 degrees already, it's going to be another hot and humid day. My husband is in front of the t.v. watching the Bathurst 500 car racing. I'm about to go for a walk along the esplanade before it gets too hot. Our eldest daughter lives in London UK, she rang last night to say it was pouring. Her fiancee is in Sheffield, Boston, USA for a few weeks fulfilling a work contract. Our youngest daughter, who lives in Adelaide, Sth Aust, is driving down the coast to do some surfing today. If you're headed our way get in touch, we enjoy hosting travellers.

Hi Sarah---a javalina is sort of a wild pig. We live in the desert foothills and there are herds of them here, although we don't see them that often. I had 2 slices of pumpernickel toast for breakfast washed down with a Diet Dr Pepper.

It's late afternoon in West Los Angeles, CA. Weather is perfect Southern California, morning clouds, mid-70's, and sunshine during the day. I just had a snack of a piece of cheese and a hardboiled egg, washed down with iced tea.

I'm in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It was a beautiful, sunny day, with a little breeze blowing, but is dark now, it's 9:45 PM. <BR> <BR>I'm about having dinner, shrimps with Catupiry cheese and broccoli. <BR> <BR>I'm typing while I watch the new TV Globo soap opera, called "The Clone". Hi Brian - you asked about my lunch in Brazil. I´m not very good with food in english, but... I am from Rio, but now living in Espirito Santo, a state north from Rio de Janeiro. It is a beautiful place, the capital city Vitoria is a small "RIO" with beautiful beaches near the mountains, warm temperature (not so hot) and pleasant weather all the year. We have a typical dish here called "Moqueca Capixaba" wich is very appreciated here. It is made of fish or shrimps or lobster (you choose) with tomatoes and sauce. Wonderful - lunch for saturday and sundays, two hours eating! But now time to go to bed, 11:39pm. Good night everyone.

HI, I am from Switzerland its pouring and grey. 11.12 AM and I have a little espresso next to me. The whole house is still sleeping.

I'm in Park Slope, Brooklyn. It's about 60 degrees here, sun and clouds (I've got a turtle neck, sweater, and wool socks on). The wind is blowing around the tree branches in the back yard fairly forcefully. We just finished lunch, a bowl of butternut squash and apple soup with curry that I made yesterday. The NYTimes is spread all over the bed from the morning. I'm working myself up to go take a walk by the park. <BR> <BR>I work out of my home office, I have a cat rather than a dog, who likes to sleep next to my computer monitor.
