28 (since last week) and 20 countries
|
Age:88
Countries: 3 Canada, US, and Europe. |
aaaaah I hope you are pulling our legs there Brookwood with the 'Europe'!
42 and 10 countries. |
adnil1962....you just gave me 1 more country that I didn't think about.
So make that 42.349 years old and 25 countries visited. |
I am 28 and have visited 20 countries since first traveling abroad at age 24. We will be adding one in October as well, as we are making our first trip to Japan.
I too feel extremely fortunate to have traveled as much as I have, especially at my age and at the age that I started traveling. There are still so many places that I want to see, although I try to tell myself that I still have a lifetime to see them! Tracy |
59 and 3 soon to be 4.
|
Also 59 (I am a Baby Boomer!)and only 26 countries (and counting as well some I was only in the airport in transit). Some countries I have visited several times: 1-Brasil (where I was born, raised, and live at the moment); 2-US (lived there for 14 years); 3-Canada; 4-Costa Rica; 5-Honduras; 6-Mexico; 7-Panamá; 8-Peru (0nly in the Lima airport); 9-Ecuador (only in the Guayaquil airport); 10-Colombia (only in the Bogota airport); 11-Venezuela (only in the Caracas airport); 12-UK (about 10 times: I coordinate a large research project that is part of a consortium headquarted in Brighton...); 13-Portugal (several times, as it is my entrance port to Europe); 14-France (4 times, getting ready to go to Paris again in February/08); 15-Germany; 16-Netherlands; 17-Check Republic; 18-Austria; 19-Switzerland; 20-Spain; 21-Italy (will go again next year); 22-Greece; 23-Germany; 24-Egypt (twice, will go again next year for another meeting); 25-Angola; 26-Thailand. |
Old enough that a couple of countries I've been to don't exist anymore (at least in the old name) and a few places that are now their own country, independent of the former rulers. How do you count those?

47 and 33
|
40 something and 30 something
|
Wow! I am impressed with the number of countries so many posters have been to.
I've been to 12 or so, but I've been many times to the same places. I need to branch out. I'm (ocugh, cough) years old. |
It's pretty sad that I haven't added any more new countries to my list for the last 3 years... though I've visited new cities.
I'm 33 and have been to 24 countries: UK, France, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Russia, Spain, Portugal, Vatican, Italy, Norway, Austria, Sweden, Denmark, Switzerland China, Taiwan, Japan, Phillipines, Thailand, Korea USA, Canada |
I am 59 and from the USA. I have been to Canada UK, France, Netherlands, and Belgium. Will be in Ireland in September and plan on seeing as much as I can until finances or age stops me.

38
Spain, Italy, Mexico, Jamaica, Bahamas, Grand Cayman Islands, Gibraltar (this is a territory, not a country, right?) |
<<Do the USVI count as a "country"? One of the problem with questions re number of countries visited, is defining "countries". I've been, for example, to Hong Kong, Puerto Rico, Northern Ireland, Gibraltar -- do they count as "countries"?>>
I counted them as countries because that's the way they are tracked on my own "world66" map. True, they are politically part of other nations, but each is distinct from the larger governing nation. |
Let's see. I'm almost 61 years old, so the memory is fading, but I'll do my best:
United States (49 out of 50, missing North Dakota) Japan Okinawa Taiwan Guam Philippines Thailand India Pakistan Saudi Arabia Libya Malta Italy Switzerland Germany France Belgium Netherlands England Canada Mexico Austria Scotland U.S. Virgin Islands Cayman Islands Croatia Greece (and Santorini) Spain Cruise in December 2007 will add Puerto Rico (right - not a country, but also not a state, like Guam, but certainly has its own history/culture), Tortola British Virgin Islands, Dominican Republic, and Haiti May - June, 2008 - three weeks in France (one week each in Paris, Provence, and Cote d'Azur) Sometime, 2009 - two weeks in Italy again (Cinque Terre and/or Tuscany and/or Le Marche) By then I'll be 63 - you count the years. By then, maybe the money will have run out? Hope not! KC (Sam part of KC) |
