I'll be darned. I never use Kayak, but I just put in that info and there is Aer Lingus, right on top! I guess I should amend my earlier response to Expedia and maybe Travelocity!
|
If you're interested in going with Aer Lingus, don't forget about searching at www.aerlingus.com
Sure, searching at Kayak gives you comparison shopping, but since Kayak does not sell the tickets, when you click through to the actual ticket source, the price that interested you may not actually be still available. It's still a very weird thing rbnwdlr has seen, interesting to now know, and be glad I'd not experienced it myself (knocking some wood). |
BTW, I never see Aer Lingus on my Kayak searches, either. I always go to their site to check things, though. RIght now, I'm planning a trip to/from places they don't go, so it doesn't help :(

rbnwdlr,
I checked on Kayak and Aer Lingus didn't come up either. I checked from Boston, both on Safari and Firefox. Then I checked on Safari from NY and Aer Lingus came up! I have no idea why but it is a lesson to check on individual airline sites when one is looking to buy. Have a great trip. |
I am going to agree with Gordon_RT and bet that there is a cookie (not a virus, not malware)on your browser which remembers your preferences from a prior search in which you somehow "unmarked" Aer Lingus.
This would explain why changing browsers allows you to see Aer Lingus when your regular browser won't. |
<< This would explain why changing browsers allows you to see Aer Lingus when your regular browser won't. >>
The OP didn't change browsers, she's been using IE. She did change search engines but that's not the same thing. |
No, she didn't but others (adrienne) did. Sorry for generic and confusing "you."

there is one scenario in which Aer Lingus would not appear as an option to select here: http://i.imgur.com/3n6u7hs.png but Kayak is still searching Aer Lingus flights. If Aer Lingus can't serve every leg of the trip ie. Kayak can't find any Aer Lingus options for at least one leg, Aer Lingus won't appear in this list because any option that includes an Aer Lingus flight would also have to include a flight on some other airline, which means it would be grouped under the "Multiple airlines" option. Hopefully that helps someone. To be sure it is searching Aer Lingus, deselect everything but "Multiple Airlines." Then click on the Details button for the options that come up, eventually you should see one with an Aer Lingus logo in it.

This thread is over two years old, so they should have sorted it by now!
