amsdon,
Thanks so much for the link; the Centro Virtual Cervantes has such a plethora of wonderful information, a great cultural resource. I used to have a membership to the Instituto Cervantes when I lived on the East Coast-miss using their rich and varied materials. Chicago_Heather, Wish we had chosen the Carmen Aben Humeya as our Albaicín dining choice. It sounds and looks lovely. We found the more well known Albaicin "dining with a view" spots such as the one we chose to offer lackluster dining, albeit in a lovely setting. We paid dearly for those views, but they were indeed spectacular. Two granadino dishes we really loved were the habitas (baby limas) con jamon and berenjenas (eggplant) con miel. They were delicious everywhere we tried them. (The Parador makes a great rendition). |
Hi again
Ann indeed we are octopus lovers, especially my DH. But now he hesitates about eating fish & seafood when it's in a place not directly on the coast, ever since his experience with some bad sardines in Sevilla a few years back. It was in a very touristy place BTW. I told him it was a flook & that Spain has really good fish & seafood in many areas. I know we will look this place of your up anyway he is crazy for octopus & squid. Thank you very much. |
The irony of eating seafood at a port city is how much of the fish is actually from that area. Even then it could be a problem as when there was oil spill on the Costa de Morte in Galicia and fishing was descimated and what was captured was suspect.
What about the rise of salmonella, especially in chickens. The problem is more intricate than one resaturant. Seville is but a 100 km from the ocean. Madrid is landlocked as Paris. |
I see I never added the follow up . My freinds did go to the "Carmen" Alcubilla del Caracol and loved it, the feeling of the room and especially the charming owner.

thanks for following it up now, amsdon.
