So nice to "hear" your sweet voice, Mimi. I "discovered" rose on my honeymoon in the South of France (14 yrs. ago) and since then drink it regularly, especially in summer. I was amused to see the style section of the NY Times declare it the new "in" drink of the moment on Aug. 6. :))

Gosh those zuccini blossoms sound great! Must try that.

I walked into a shop yesterday and was transported with the aroma of dried lavender. My attempts at growing lavender have not been good.

Best wishes to you both. ((8))

Klondike, try the Cavaillon melons topped with Beame de Venise.

I've missed you all!!

It's really good to hear from you again, Mimi. I hope things are going well for Jerry.

It sounds as though you are creating little bits of France in your home, and that must bolster both your and Jerry's spirits!

I too have been following your husbands illness and am glad to see you have a little time now to join us. I hope that you are able to travel again to France, they must miss you too!

We are not going to France this year, but we are going to Africa, BUT, I am missing lots of things:
fresh pane chocolate every morning with my cafe au lait, that little bowl of 6 chips with my afternoon glass of wine at an outside cafe, a new purse from Karine Dupont, a three course dinner for about $35, seeing the confusion on peoples faces when I speak french, seeing there recognition when they finially figure out what I said, practicing my french, Paul's, prounounced Pull, all the fresh little goat cheeses, wandering around the Intermarche and last but not least, I love and miss the round abouts!
