Views on Venice vs. Venice Rentals

I've searched the boards for any recent information on these two companies, and I haven't found very much. Both seem to have great apartments at comparable prices. Does anyone have direct and recent experience with either one of them? What were they like to deal with? Thanks!

sorry, artsbabe - ? v Venice Rentals?

artsbabe Oct 11th, 2009 06:43 AM

Yes, there is a company called Venice Rentals. www.venicerentals.com

annhig Oct 11th, 2009 06:51 AM

yes, but what's the other one????

zoecat Oct 11th, 2009 06:58 AM

I think the other is called Views on Venice.

aha! thanks, zoecat.

the OP's syntax confused me.

which apartments are you looking at, babe?

artsbabe Oct 11th, 2009 08:06 AM

Sorry to be confusing in my post. I'm looking for information on the companies, which are Views on Venice and Venice Rentals. I'm not looking for advice yet on specific apartments. Thanks for your help!

Here are some reviews of apartments rented from Views on Venice:

There are 2 Venice Rentals agencies: www.venicerentals.com and www.venice-rentals.com

I could only find feedback for venice-rentals:

I can only say that I once tried to rent an apartment through Venice Rentals but I found another agency renting the same apartment for less.

hi babe,

have you looked on the slow travel website?

they have agencies in the main italian cities which are "slow-travel favourites" and also reviews of apartments [with the agency name listed] which sometimes give views of the agencies as well.

regards, ann

Thanks, Ann. I looked at tripadvisor but not slowtravel. I'll do that.

We've rented in Venice through VRBO, dealing direct with the owner, who is based in the USA. Worked OK for us.

annhig Oct 12th, 2009 01:47 PM

peter - we did the same sort of thing. our owner happened to be british with a sterling bank account so we didn't have to worry about exchange rates or paying abroad with heaps of cash.

worth thinking about for US renters with the current rate of the $ against the €.
