I dont' want to drag up that previously argued issue of "is Giovanni's apartment too good to be true?", but I think one of the bigger issues for many is the lack of a kitchen -- no problem for me -- I have yet to turn on a stove or actually cook in a rental apartment, but it's nice to have a refrigerator for cheese and juice.
But while Holly indicates there are many others in the same ballpark, I have yet to see any which seem to be as finely furnished and finished as Giovanni's for that price, and which have my big issues all covered -- air conditioning, wall mounted showers, larger than a double bed, and no walk-ups above the first or possibly second floor without an elevator. The steps might be an issue if we had to come downstairs at night to use a bathroom, but since I live in a three story townhouse of tiled steps, and since there are bathrooms both upstairs and downstairs, I don't think that's going to be an issue either. |
The owners of Palazzo Querini responded to me that "there is no shower in the apartment, only a tub". That takes care of that. I'm mainly posting this here for future searches.
Still a little torn between Giovanni's apartment (Permesso) and the Rosa di Venezia one, but I think it will be Permesso. |
