I dont know guys, you must be lucky..I have tried so many times but the prices are always up and up.
I am even willing to buy just round tickets and instead of SAT/AMS/FCO, I dont mind to change to SAT/AMS, I can always take Transavia to Rome.

My travel's dates are from June13 to July 18 or 19..If anyone see a good fare can you please post it? I will try to check this forum often..
Grazie Amici e Amiche..:)

susanna, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!
It took a little bit of work but I got SAN - FRA in Sept for $443 total.
At first, I went to United and got a good price but had to call hubby make sure dates were okay. In the meantime plugged in the dates in Expedia and Orbitz. United and Orbitz gave the great price but when it came time to move to the next screen they faltered and had "tech diff". Hmmmph!
Expedia came through.
I'm so happy, I had to finish doing my little happy dance around the house singing and calling good friends before I could post my thanks.
A.

I'm so glad that it is working for all of you. I was a half hour late to work because of finding it this morning and then I was so busy catching up(I'm a hairdresser)I couldn't post it here until a few hours later.
I'm off now to buy a lotto ticket, maybe it's my lucky day .
WOOOHOOO pARIS, HERE WE ALL COME!

namaka Feb 3rd, 2007 04:38 PM

I just went to the United site and couldn't get my same dates anymore (Aug 21-30) for 553.00. I could still get them on Orbitz though. I know United still has some good deals because I also tried late Sept and got 518.00 all included. Don't give up!

rosetravels Feb 3rd, 2007 05:11 PM

I just checked and it's $498 Seattle to Paris in December. Jeesh, that's tempting.

fishee Feb 3rd, 2007 05:13 PM

TRSW Feb 3rd, 2007 11:14 PM

Just bringing this to the attention of those who might not have been around yesterday.

"...rose -- didn't you just get back from Paris this week??!!..."

soooooooo....what's the problem?.. LOL

happytotravel Feb 4th, 2007 02:52 PM

Thanks for the info, just booked a trip to Paris in Sept. Great prices, I checked on Kayak and then booked on United.

luvtotravel Feb 4th, 2007 03:25 PM

This morning, booked on United's website for the month of May, Los Angeles to Amsterdam, returning from Paris for $511 inclusive of taxes/fees. My friend wants to join me, but the days I plugged in for her weekend travel did not bring up a low fare. I'm traveling mid-week. I need to alter the trip was going to originally take, but could not pass up this great deal.

Travelnut Feb 5th, 2007 07:03 AM

It must be NICE to live in a HUB city... :'(

Belledame Feb 5th, 2007 10:05 AM

I'm not harassing you guys, but do any of you feel a twinge of conscience over actively capitalizing on a mistake?

I just wonder at the potential karma of such action.

Sher Feb 5th, 2007 10:16 AM

Travelnut.

Pittsburgh is not a HUB city for United and I checked several dates includding July and August and still came up with a $600 inclusive fare for CDG.

Just for ha has, I am not planning to go to France.

Christina Feb 5th, 2007 10:20 AM

I sure wouldn't (feel a twinge of conscience), although this doesn't suit my schedule. HOw does anyone know this is a mistake, that seems speculation. If they changed the rates, maybe that's because they sold enough tickets at a price they had planned.

If it were a mistake, I think legally they could get out of it (like if it were $1 instead of $1000). I don't know, I see signs in stores sometimes saying something in an ad was a mistake, too bad, but they don't have to meet that price if it was a mistake.

Even if it were, I wouldn't feel at all sorry for them because it was their own fault -- they have computer programmers who are supposed to be doing their job, which includes checking their work and making sure it is accurate. If United has bad employees who aren't doing their jobs correctly, that's United's problem but it's just their business situation. It's no moral issue to "feel sorry" for United because they have dumb employees or management and/or no system checks or quality control.

LAXboy Feb 5th, 2007 10:25 AM

I have a wedding in Rome for end of May 2007.

I also have been waiting for sale airfare prices.

Today was my lucky day, as United was having an unadvertised fare from LAX to Frankfurt, Germany for $436.50 total (all taxes & surcharges included).

I then booked an Alitalia flight from Frankfurt to Rome for $115.60 total.

Total for the flights = $552.10!

I received the European fare alert via airfarewatchdog.com

Without them, I would've ended up paying $1k somewhere else.

Leely Feb 5th, 2007 10:26 AM

I didn't think it was a mistake. I got an email from that airfare watchddog a few days ago calling it an unadvertised sale for April/May and Sept/Oct/Nov.

Unfortuantely, I already have tickets for Easter and can't plan that far ahead for fall/winter. But the rest of you enjoy!

tlucey Feb 5th, 2007 10:41 AM

I don't think its a mistake either. This morning I check expedia for packages and it was the same prices as last week, but then I just checked again and it dropped! $1100 air and hotel from LAX to CDG for 7 nights! There were even less expensive hotels too!
