U2 in Paris

where would one get tickets online to events at the Stade de France???

MyriamC Jan 30th, 2005 08:40 AM

Here: http://www.mcm.net/sorties/concert_info.php/20352/
I hope they aren't sold out yet. The tickets for the Brussels concert were sold out in no time.

cozart Jan 30th, 2005 10:05 AM

the tickets don't go on sale until february 4th so i still have a chance!

MyriamC Jan 30th, 2005 10:53 AM

Good luck!

ilovetulips Jan 30th, 2005 12:22 PM

I envy you for being able to see U2 in Paris. We will be there in late May for 5 nights so it doesn't coincide with their schedule. Hopefully they will come to Texas on another leg of the tour. We absolutely love U2!

Surfergirl Jan 30th, 2005 12:30 PM

I just got mine for Los Angeles!

cozart Jan 30th, 2005 12:45 PM

ya, it just turns out that my fiancee and i will be on our honeymoon when they're there. we just found out today and we're stoked!

tulips, what part of texas are you in? i was raised in dallas and went to school at Texas A&M

jeffwill4you Jan 30th, 2005 01:48 PM

We got our tickets for the Apr 2 show in Anaheim because our friend works at TICKETMASTER. We love U2. $165.00 per ticket, plaza level 20th row from stage.
I bet the tickets for Paris will be twice that.

ms_go Jan 30th, 2005 02:01 PM

I'd find out exactly what time they go on sale and get online then. The first two shows in Chicago were sold out by 10:20 (on sale at 10am), and the two additional shows also went about that fast. We, too, shelled out $165 apiece for two tickets -- almost as much as one of those cheap winter fares to Europe.

MrGreen Jan 31st, 2005 09:37 AM

I'm not sure if they will have the same stage set-up as they did for the Elevation tour, but when we saw them, we paid for the "cheap seating" and ended up in the standing room only section...about 6 feet from the stage "catwalk"!!!!

My ears are still ringing, but what a show!

islandbeachangel Jan 31st, 2005 10:05 AM

Good luck getting tickets!! Here in NYC the tickets were sold out in 6 minutes!!!! 6 minutes!!!!! I managed to get 2 tickets but they are THE WORST SEATS IN THE HOUSE. In Continental Airlines arena we're in the upper section directly across from the stage 1 row away from the ceiling. At least I'll in be in the building. :)

Good luck!

Ryan Jan 31st, 2005 10:25 AM

Should be fun. I saw them in Dublin in the mid-80's. It was a blast.

IslandBeachAngel,
If you want to know why you've got the lousy seats, read the post three up from your post. When it comes to getting the best seats, still helps to have a friend in the right place.

ilovetulips Jan 31st, 2005 11:44 AM

Hi cozart, I live in Georgetown just north of Austin. The last time we saw U2 was during the Popmart Tour and we were at the Astrodome in Houston. It was a fabulous show. I am so amazed that some of these shows sold out in 6 minutes!! For those of you who did get tickets did you get them online or did you stand in line?

Christina Jan 31st, 2005 01:55 PM

I don't know what the above website from myriam is, but they are on sale at various ticket agencies.

www.ticketnet.fr has them on sale and an English section, plus a seating chart which is nice. They say they are for sale to fan club members only from Feb 1 through Feb 3 (who can buy 4 tickets each) and then to the general public 2/4.

It sounds like maybe you should join the fan club pretty quickly. They are also on sale on www.fnac.com but that's only in French and just says coming soon or something--prices not too bad, though, 47 to 117 euro.

tully Jan 31st, 2005 02:23 PM

geez, kinda makes me wish for The Unforgettable Fire Tour in 85. The arena was only 3/4 full! Won't see those days again. :(

ms_go Jan 31st, 2005 02:38 PM

tully -- don't laugh, I just found my ticket stub from The Unforgettable Fire tour in '85. I paid $12.50 to see them in Phoenix. Won't see those days again, either....

Surfergirl Feb 1st, 2005 01:44 PM

$12.50, ha! I saw them when they first came to L.A., in about 1980, where it cost a huge $7.00 to see them at the Reseda Country Club, a tiny venue -- no one heard of them back then. Of course, that was back when drinks were $1.50.

amyb Feb 20th, 2005 06:03 PM

There's supposed to be a second Paris show on July 10th -- onsale March 4th.

college_travelers Feb 20th, 2005 06:10 PM

Hopefully I am reading their website wrong. This is directly off of U2's website:

2nd July Vienna - Ernst Happel Stadium, Sold Out
Support Act: The Killers
5th July Katowice - Slaski Stadium, On Sale Now
7th July Berlin - Olympic Stadium, On Sale 12/02/05
9th July Paris - Stade de France, Sold Out
13th July Amsterdam – Arena, Sold Out

If the tickets are not even on sale, how can they already be sold out??? Here is a link to their website:

http://www.u2.com/tour/

ilovetulips Feb 20th, 2005 06:41 PM

collegetravelers, I could be wrong on this but U2.com offers presale tickets to people who are members of their website. I think some of dates with sold out are for presale tickets. Larry Mullen wrote in an apology for the members who were unable to get tickets. I presume people thought it would be "a done deal" if they paid money to be members. Good luck! They should have a second leg of their tour in North America in the fall if you can't see them in Europe.

SiobhanP Feb 21st, 2005 07:09 AM

My cousin told me it used to cost 50p to see them in the dandelion market in Dublin many a year ago. He refused to pay and snuck in as a kid and said they were rubbish...not too bad now:-). The website had massive problems and Larry Mullen offered people refunds on the memebrship if they were unable to get tickets online. se letter:

Dear colombo75

This is not something that I would normally do, but I feel that I have
to do something to redress this situation.

There was a mess up in the way the tickets were distributed through
U2.com for the Vertigo pre-sale. Some of it was beyond our control, but
some of it wasn't.

I am now in the process of figuring out a way of distributing the
tickets for our intended return to North America in the fall. The only
fair way of doing this, is to give U2 Propaganda members, who are now
U2.com members, priority in the queue.

After that, people will be given priority in the order in which they joined.
Many people who joined U2.com and didn't get tickets are
understandably angry. They now have the option to get a full refund of
their subscription fee.

The idea that our long-time U2 fans and scalpers competed for U2
tickets through our own website is appalling to me. I want to apologise
to you who have suffered that.

If your U2.com pre-sale experience has left you disappointed, I hope
this will go some way towards reassuring you of our total commitment
to our audience.

Slainte
Larry.

By the way, a note to those so-called U2 fans who are quick to accuse
U2 of unseemly behaviour, I've only got two words for you...

I think it kept crashing for the Ireland date and my pals got tickets for us but they were dropped twice before just barely getting tickets.

amyb Feb 23rd, 2005 05:48 PM

ILoveTulips...as I mentioned, this is on Universal Record's France site, confirming the second date, tix on sale 4 March. All U2 fans know that u2.com is painfully slow to announce good information...
