Trip report: Paris' unexplored curiosities, part 4
The latest installment of this series is coming a year later than once planned - you all know why. It continues my extended project to walk the whole city, by arrondissement, using two books (the excellent "Unexplored Paris," and the extraordinary "Curiosities of Paris") and their locations as the touch points for the itinerary. Previous installments can be found using the last one, at https://www.fodors.com/community/eur...t-3-a-1668892/. I arrived in the city in early July, as some of the restrictions were being lifted, and spent two weeks, thus leaving before the recent health pass requirements went into effect.
As usual, the report is in the form of captioned photo albums: Around the city: https://photos.app.goo.gl/5GCqNN3PitRAMaaQ6 The unexplored 7th: https://photos.app.goo.gl/rnwLdoeX1Ut3V1cH7 Curiosities of the 7th: https://photos.app.goo.gl/XBW9ivcJwbM1TpXG7 The unexplored 8th: https://photos.app.goo.gl/XBW9ivcJwbM1TpXG7 Curiosities of the 8th: https://photos.app.goo.gl/rzwVUrrPfE1RW8m47 The unexplored 9th: https://photos.app.goo.gl/qyvB9dFoSipCZ8a78 Curiosities of the 9th: https://photos.app.goo.gl/gKKf6n8aDDozQXXz9 Saint-Germain des Pres church: https://photos.app.goo.gl/1midGhLpy664vfcL8 Carnavalet Museum: https://photos.app.goo.gl/fLNoU9N5yCV5X9JZ9 Versailles (a short walk around town): https://photos.app.goo.gl/xeWFkqRkbSDyMTv88 |

As I always say, creating these albums allows me to take the trip again, in a sense, and so is a real pleasure. And photos, even of Paris, without context, are often lacking to me - so taking that time is something I would want from others, and in fact get from the best contributors like kerouac. So, the best choice for me is to offer that in return. |
Mke, endless thanks for slaking my thirst for a visit to Paris in these trying times!

I like your photo of the door on Avenue Rapp. I recently photographed the same door.

Wow, I love the project and your pictures are beautiful. I can’t see the captions, though - probably the device I’m on. Thanks for sharing!

<<Can't help on notebooks and Apple products.>>
On my macBook if i click on an individual photo, it brings up the comment at the bottom, and clicking on "more" brings up the full comment in a box on the R of the screen which then remains there for other photos. |

<< I must have not tapped hard or slow enough yesterday because today I see both the “i” and the “more.” Except when it disappears; then I tap lightly in the black void and it comes back, lol. Anyway thank you both!>>
So glad it worked for you, YankyGal. |
Really enjoying these fabulous photos with captions. A vicarious Paris visit I’ve been so hungry for. Thanks!

The little space invader symbols - I've seen them explained here before but couldn't remember the details so I looked them up:

I am a recent re-subscriber to Fodors forums after a long hiatus. Such a pleasure to be back. I cannot thank you enough for your marvellous, detailed trip reports. And the photos! Such a time waster in the best possible way:)
The borders in Australia have only recently been reopened, and the pent up demand for international travel and the issues associated with immense staff shortages are keeping us home until next year. Can't wait to return to Europe and see Paris again. Thanks again, Sally |
